UPDATED: FEB 9, 2014 Tap. Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma of banana and hint of malt. Medium body with strong banana overtones, some malt sweetness, and caramelized sugar with a hint of spice. Medium alcohol warmth with a banana finish. Not sure if banana notes were intended but I am not a fan.-- Not any banana this time around but lots of vanilla and caramelized sugar. 22 oz. bottle shared at First Sunday. Pours a cloudy brown with a small, tan head. The aroma is heavy biscuit dough, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, and black pepper. Heavy, malty sweetness, some mellow yeasty notes, and just a hint of spiciness. Heavy body, syrupy, thick, and smooth, with a clean aftertaste. This is a fairly good, thick, sweet beer, but lacks the complexity, depth, mouthfeel, and yeast character of a good Belgian-style beer. Itzjerm (3076) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - OCT 26, 2013
At brewery for third anniversary, Served through Randall with orange cinnamon and nutmeg. Vanilla nutmeg and Cinnamon come to front. Sweetness as expected for a Belgian strong. Thin head but clear. Nice cinnamon and nutmeg aroma.
