3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Highland Package in Birmingham, AL. Pours deep, hazy gold with a huge and tenacious white head. Nose of buttery chardonnay, lemon, oak, and grapes. Taste adds a bit of spice, a good deal of bitterness, and a bit more butter. Surprisingly a bit better cold than closer to room temp. Agreed that this would be a nice summer beer.
Bottle from Piggly Wiggly Homewood. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Has a nice amount of lacing. Prominent chardonnay notes on the nose. It’s even bigger on the tongue. Given the flavor profile of a Saison aging it in Chardonnay barrels works very nicely. Itzjerm (2960) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - JUL 18, 2013
Large bubble head, which fades quickly in completion. Aroma is apple. Taste is early spring, with buds blooming and the thought of apples in distance but not prominant. Taste is apple and fades with light oak notes to carbonation. This is actually one of the best beer i’ve had from Yellow Hammer, it reinvented my hope in them. A nice brew. hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 10, 2013

651mL thanks to beerandblues2. Picture win for this beer. Pours a low haze yellow, weak white head. Nose is yellow apple, fresh laundry, mint. Taste is mint, yellow apple juice, sweet cream butter, tannic apple skin. Palate is saltwater, sweet cream butter. Somehow nailed that elusive Hill Farmstead palate aesthetic but fundamental flavors need tweaking. BeerandBlues2 (13595) - Escondido, California, USA - APR 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a medium, frothy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is wine, oak, wheat malt, pear and apple esters with citrus hops. Flavor is tart wine, citrus hops, barnyard and funky yeast with wheat malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Travlr (25269) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 14, 2013
