12 oz bottle. Poured an opaque mahogany color. Aroma was very strong and pleasant, mostly chocolate and coffee, very sweet-smelling. Flavor was quite different, very sour up front, some roasted malt taste, with a long finish and coffee aftertaste. Palate was very lively for a stout, but thick nonetheless. Overall a great tart stout.
Draft at the taproom... thin black brew with no real head retention.. Ashy dark malt with no real sweetness and never really comes together... Seems like malt and hops were used to just stain water. jkwalking05 (4731) - Arlington, Texas, USA - SEP 27, 2014

Bottle. The look is dark, black in color, tan head. The smell is smoke, malts. Oats, raisins, earth, dirt. The taste is malt, oat. Slick, oil. Ok. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - SEP 2, 2013
On tap at Bones. Black with a brown head. Scent is roasted malt, chocolate and sugar. Taste is sweet at first, some chocolate, bitter finish. DuffMan (10270) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2013
Bottle. Deep brown with copper highlights and an enormous over-inflated finely bubbled head that took five installments to pour. Aroma is sweet roast and light plastic. Over-carbonated palate, thin mouthfeel, roast and plastic again. I hope this is an off bottle, otherwise this is an appalling beer.

Had this a while back at the brewery. Pours a jet black small tan head. Smells sweet malty and of roasted barley. Nice roasty taste as well as some chocolate. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nice tasting beer, much better than their lighter beers. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUL 6, 2012
12oz bottle. Dark brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and some lactose. Flavor is semi-sweet chocolate, light bitter roast and a sugary sweetness. Medium to full body with a creamy mouth feel. Pretty good stout, rich and malty just a touch on the sweet side. Aml42000 (622) - Washington, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Nothing going on here. Medium bodied stout which doesn’t really offer anything interesting. Roasted aromatics, slightly creamy body. A bit too thin for me. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - NOV 26, 2011
Bottle. Poured a nearly opaque black color with some ruby light shining through. The head was thin and light brown. Pleasant milk chocolate, toffee, and subdued anise aromas. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with flavors following the aromas.
