jc1762 (1436) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 4, 2015
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2015 Poured into a SA Perfect Pint showing caramel honey golden with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of steel tank notes and some floral hops with hints of tropical fruit and slight cannabis. The palate is a clean maltiness balanced by the floral hops, a mid palate of steel tank, but a somewhat soft sharp IPA bitterness. Easy to approach and drink, surprisingly a pretty good IPA by a Japanese brewery.

Recently discovered this beer, not knowing a quality IPA was available from the Lawson stores in Japan. Golden amber colour, high alcohol content but well hidden. Worth sipping slowly. Will seek it out again.

From a 33 cl can. Pours a hazy orange gold with a thick off white head. Intense citrus nose. Delicate flavors of orange and grapefruit. Moderately bitter finish.

Can at Osaka hanami. pours pale amber with white frothy head. Big american hop aroma and bitterness with solid malt behind it and some malt sweetness. This is a fine example of an america style IPA and I’m impressed it so good for a beer so readily available in japan.
