Can. Nose doesn’t quite do it for me. Weird phenols, dark fruit, alcohol. Almost seems barreled. The flavor has similarities, but the heat is gone and the deep dark aftertaste is fantastic. Probably a one timer. zvikar (6172) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - OCT 23, 2016

Can - Dark cocoa and molasses. Jet black with a beige head. Sweet dark sugars and molasses with a long sweet finish. If you like dark candi sugars you will like this. willisread (3342) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 7, 2016
Can from Masuyo’s back in 2013. Burnt molasses and roasted malt on the nose. The palate is messy: burnt bread, maple syrup and sorghum, and boozy. Flavors don’t come together at all. SORRY, it sucked.

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly/fully diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, roasted grain), with light notes of vanilla and blueberry.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Overall kinda plain and simple, but ok. Sweet without too much to balance but still drinkable. nealblind (1864) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - JUL 26, 2015

Light hazy brown color, tan head. Sweet, alcohol scent. alcohol, sweet taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Full mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Alcohol too evident in this one for my taste.
12 ounce can purchased at Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa. The aroma has some roasted notes with a little rubbery character and some anise, too. Light pool toys. Somewhat transparent dark mahogany body with a smallish light tan head that is quickly dissipating. Starts with a bit of a sweet chalky cocoa like flavor. The middle has some slippery, sweet buttery diacetyl. Lowly carbonated. A bit of anise flavor is in the finish. Sweet, undercarbonated, diacetyl-ridden beer. 350 ml can from De Bierkoning ( alittle past bbe date) - present from Aaltje, thanks a lot! I guess it’s because I brought Yo-Ho to their attention :-). Black color. Beige head which quickly disappears. Aroma’s: sweet drop/licorice, roasted malts, light red fruit. Retronasal it’s very much drop, a little salty even, aniseed, bay leaves/laurel. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted or even smoked, light salty. Medium bodied.Medium bodied. Finishes with more drop/licorice, roasted, moderate bitter. Very strange, but definitely interesting.
