COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

Pours a nice dark black with ruby red edges and one finger of tan head. Nose shows some bittersweet chocolate and light coffee roast with notes of caramel and herbal hops. Smooth and chocolaty flavor with some roast and a light sweetness. Light bodied and low carbonation.

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks David Cohen. Black with dark tan head. A little sugar and some soy sauce aroma, also a little floral and roasty. Soy, roastiness, a little rich milk chocolate and then some nuts. Smooth, quite carbonated, full body, roasty finish with some raisins.

Dark brown colour, quite small but thick and fluffy, lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, toffee, spicy hops, slight milk chocolate, slight vanilla. Flavour sweetish, roasted malts, coffee, liquorice. Some bitter hops poking through. Texture a little thin, light carbonation, still very acceptable though. Enjoyable beer.

12oz can. Darkest brown in color with a half finger tan head. Roasty and chocolatey aroma with maybe just the slightest metallic hint. The flavor is dry and bitter with sharp roast, cacao nibs, molasses, and anise. Medium-thin bodied with big bubbles. A good, enjoyable beer.

Pours a deep brownish black from the can with fluffy tan brown head that leaves good lace. Aroma of earthy soy under mild roast. Taste has more of the roast and less of the oxidation, nice mild chocolate tones and fruity yeast. Solid porter.

0.355l can (I guess since its all in Japanese) @ Apollon. Quite deep and dark in the glass this one, near black actually and not much of a head really. A thin sidesticking brown film perhaps. Smells nice and roasted. Lots of chocolate here. Dark chocolate, rich cold coffee, cocoa hints and a little vanilla trace. Nice aroma. Light oily texture in the mouth, almost a little watery and its about average on the bubbles. Tastes alright also. Light roasted, dry burnt, traces of both cardboard and thin coffee. Lots of thin coffee actually. A fair one. 17.12.2014

Nice thick beer. A little harsh with coffee and roasted notes, but nothing else to balance it out. Id drink it again, but wouldnt be my first choice in this genre.

350ml can. BLACK pour, dark brown head. Aroma of smoked malts, charred grains, cocao nibs, dark chocolate, burnt cereal, wooded hops, and fruity esters. Flavor of smoked malts, fish, burnt malt, heavy charcoal, some coffee, a touch of dark fruit under all of the deep heavy roast of prune. Finishes with a lot of char. Heavy bodied. It is dark!

Dark brown, spotty cream head, large bubbles. Bit of smoke and grain, light oat. Bit thin flavor, grainy, green, chalky, bit of coffee. Thin body and too fizzy for the profile.

Pours black with tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, basement, smoke, german sausage. Taste is sweet chocolate at first followed by smoked german sausage in the finish. Body is light and smooth, soft carbonation.
