Can dated September 2015. Lightly hazed amber with a short off-white head and some retention. Aroma is hoppy and malty with dominant notes of grapefruit, crystal malt, pepper, lemon / lemon-scented soap with a distinct off-note of chlorine. Medium body, semi-sweet, lightly savory, low bitterness, lightly oily, silky-fine carbonation, finishing with bready caramel malt and that unpleasant lemon soap quality. Kind of a disappointment compared to the other Yo-Ho beers I’ve had recently, and there’s a small amount of oxidized malt in the nose and mouth that suggests this one is past its prime.

Pours an amber colour with medium off-white head and watery body. Evident aroma of dried apricot on nose, with hints of tropical fruit and grain. Taste is sweetness of malt, honey and bitterness of citrus hops. However, the flavour is a bit vague.

Can 350ml. Pours orange with a creamy thick white head leaving nice lacing. Aroma is subtle tropical fruits and grainy. Body is medium with mild carbonation. Taste has some grapefruit and citrus and fresh cut grass. Not bad, nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

350ml can. Slightly cloudy, orangey deep golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Slightly sulphureous aroma, hints of egg, citrusy hoppy overtones with lemon touch, hints of lemon biscuit. Taste is citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, a touch of yuzu, quince and lemongrass, a minimally sulphureous touch of yolk.

A wonderful golden/bronze in colour with a thin, bright white head. Orange and mango on the nose, smells quite sweet. Honey and orange flavours with some citrus hop bitterness at the backend. A subtle sweet malty undertone runs throughout. A reasonably crisp finish, well carbonated and a pleasant orange fused aftertaste.

Hazy orange beer with a small beige head. Grassy and soapy aroma. Really nice taste. Medium bodied. Sweet and ripe/dried apricots. A hint of leather. Round, soft and full bitterness. This reminds me a little of Yamazaki whisky actually in a weird way. Some smokiness. This is a really good beer. Very well done. Highly recommended.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2017 From the can. L: pours a dark gold/copper with a small fizzy white head. S: biscuity malt, sweet, caramel and hints of citrus. T: caramelly malt taste, some touches of citrus, grapefruit, a little pine. F: really smooth, solid malty body, some tang, and a nice moderate bitter finish. O: I’ve had this probably more than anything other beer, ever, so it is my palate’s standard reference point. It’s a standard, well-rounded, delicious ale for all seasons.
