330 ml bottle. Appearance is a golden amber tone with a decently thick head of off-white froth. Froth has moderate retention, and leaves rich lacing on the glass. Aromas are malty - the base wheat malt, dough, bready flavours all mixed in prominently. Taste follows the traditional Weizen mold, again bread, cereal, dough, with a touch of light sweetness.Mouth feel is average, nice average level of carbonation suits it to a T making it feel creamy in the mouth without being overwhelmingly buzzy,

Tap at the brewery. Nice aroma, cloves, wheat, ice cream. Soft taste, wheaty, creamy, nice.

willisread (3651) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 6, 2016
Tap at the brewery. Big bubblegum forward nose with strong wheat notes. Good carbonation with a soft mouthfeel. Maybe a touch watery, but the flavors were very nice.

GenkiGonzo (1096) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 30, 2015
Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy straw colour with a fairly fluffy head. Sweet, fuity aroma. Flavour has some bread and wheat, but dominated by banana.

3.5
Tonkun (1306) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 4, 2015
Tap at Dry Dock in Tokyo. Yellow white pour. Sweet bread, tropical fruits, gum, citrus and lemon zest. Sweet medium body. Not bad. A bit more banana is good

3.2
Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Tap at Devil Craft Hamamatsucho, Tokyo. Very hazy yellow. Short white head. Aroma is lemony, bready. Taste opens up on the thin side before filling out with the familiar banana notes. A bit overcarbonated here but a good stab at a weizen.

KansaiBeerLvrs (5373) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 11, 2015
On tap at Qbrick. A cloudy honey gold with minimal head. It’s got an enticing wheaty clove aroma. Medium-light bodied but fairly smooth. The taste is of a solid though not so memorable weizen that is wheat + clove forward with no noticeable banana notes. Alright.

3.6
biirusaikou (2705) - - JUL 22, 2014
Banana cake, butter, creamy, quite sparkling, candy, hints of vanilla, peppery finish. Quite flavorful Hefe-Weizen, the best brew of their weak lineup imho.

On tap at Ant n Bee in Tokyo. Was a bit fearful based on RB ratings in the 50s, but was pleasantly surprised to find the beer much better than Blue Moon, though not quite as good as Weihenstephan.

3.5
Travlr (26105) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 2, 2013
Draft at the source. Cloudy yellow color, white edge head. Aroma of banana, citrus bubblegum. Taste is bright tropical juicyfruit gum.
