Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Reddish amber with a dense cream head; spicy hop aroma; smooth with sour fruit and bready flavours to start, then sweet malty caramel and a warming finish. Not bad. bobinlondon (1295) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2009
Handpulled cask at JDW Harrow. Mid brown with a good white head. Dry malty profile without a lot of hops. Not too impressive for a York beer I’m affraid. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks. Mid brown with a reasonable off white head and plenty of lace. Fruity malt aroma with hints of neopolitan ice cream. Similar flavour with some added caramel and a hint of peat in the finish that doesn’t really seem like it’s supposed to be there. Ok overall. imdownthepub (14470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2009
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber to copper, cold hazed, with white head. Quite a sicky aroma which develops into the flavour, sweetish with a raw bitter background. Ends a little drier, but probably Spooned to death. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2009
Cask at Banker’s Draft (JDW), Bedford. Dark coppery gold with a white head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of something spicy. Taste is earthy malt with a mid bitter finish. Odd to say this in a ’Spoons, but it really was too warm.
