Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2012, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.
[ As York Dark Knight Porter ].
Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, light yeasty, light vomit - yeast. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, coffee bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily and smooth, carbonation is soft to flat.
Bold dark brown almost black look with a thick tan lasting head. Strong delicious roast coffee smell. Medium velvet sticky body. Thick roast taste with coffee, and a chocolate nut, bitter dry finish. JukeBoxJury (3) - Douglas, ISLE OF MAN - FEB 22, 2012 does not count
Cask; The Sidings, Castletown IOM. Poured through a sparkler but head was left and settled. A good winter dark bitter. The aroma was not strong but I found the dark colour and balanced malty taste very appealing.
I would welcome another pint dynamiteninja (1930) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2012
Cask. The Yorkshire Terrier, York. Black body. Medium tan head. Fruit, smoke, roastiness, nuts. Bitter. Dry finish, jehoey (765) - Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2006
cask at Weatherspoons in York: very nice cask beer. comes off the tap with a brown, but almost black look with a tan head. aroma was quite fruity and malty. flavor is very very malty and fruity, and really well balanced. Tastes almost the same as Wonkey Donkey, but there both great beers so no shame in that. medium body. A beer I would drink again.

Cask at Maproom: Soft body with an orange leather glow. Very floral, nearly like chomping on Play-Doh. Some pepper, spice flavors as well. Slightly bitter at the end. Sort of refreshing. dolemike1 (1289) - Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 13, 2005
Cask at Max’s: Poured a dark brown, with a fine slightly off white head. Very nice looking. Everything else about it was eminently forgettable. Subtle flavors of chocolate and toffee. However they didnt really impress me. Aftertaste was exceptionally unpleasant, an unfortunate severe drying finish on my tongue. Wont sample again. Hand pulled at the Bartons Arms Beer Festival, Birmingham. Sampled with Maeib. Mild I thought, but delicious whichever style. Strong roasted flavour, thinnish mouthfeel, which suited the flavour. Crunchy to finish, light on the tongue, some hops.
