Roasty caramel aroma. Deep copper with a tan head. Light malty character with hop and roast grain bitterness.

pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - AUG 1, 2010
Cask (@ Three Legged Mare): Deep amber coloured, stable and lacy off-white head; peppery hoppy nose with fruits and malt, quite light bodied; peppery hops linger in the sweetish-fruity finish, followed by a bitter aftertaste. A pleasant brew.....

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2003)
Deep brown, small beige head. Subtle but full aroma. Soft palate, smooth. Very full taste, it’s basically - in a word - brown. Good roasty malts and plenty of brackeny hops. Finish continues the taste for quite a while. Rating discovered while packing for a move in 2010.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Three Legged Mare, York. A dark brown coloured beer with an off-white coloured head. The aroma has some coffee and berry fruits, which carry through into the warming tasty, predominantly malty mouthfeel. Pretty nice.

albertane (377) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2008
Cask at the Three-Legged Mare, York. A well-balanced, flavourful bitter with some roast and fruit flavours. Good but not really a standout from this brewery.

3.3
Fukito (1059) - Santiago, CHILE - DEC 26, 2007
Cask @ 3 Legged Mare, november 07. Nice, shinny ruby color with some orange hues and a small lace leaving white rim. Caramelly, slightly raisiny aroma. Caramel tasting with some earthy hops notes. Medium palate, silky, velvety feeling that keeps it nice and interesting. Tasty, warming amber bitter.

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 1, 2007
Exclusive to the lovely 3-legged-mare pub in York. Deep copper pour covered by a generous, lasting off-white head with full lacing. A well-brewed, very fruity, figgy even and grapey, boldly caramelly mild ale. Growing coffee-like roastiness. Evolving nutty, toasty notes. Kinda grainy by the finish. Good and tasty stuff.

Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2007
Aug 07 Cask conditioned @ Three Legged Mare (otherwise known as the Wonky Donky)< York. Lots of dry roastiness which might work well in a fuller bodied beer but I found it a bit out of place here with the slightly sweet malt and gentle hops.
