COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer harks back to the classic English style IPAs. Hefty malt backing meets truck loads of hop flowers added to all stages of the process. The all Australian hop flavour is not aggressive in its bitterness, but is evident in flavour and aroma and slowly asserts itself with a lengthy, lingering and throughly enjoyable palette.

I was left wanting more, the aroma was powerful on the hops citrus and tropical fruits, a caramel sensation came through as the fruits started to fade, it poured a amber colour with a solid creamy head, very lively ale!

375ml can from Beer Cartel, Sydney. Poured a deep, slightly ruddy, slightly hazy chestnut brown with a tall, frothy and lacing dark beige to light tan head wth fair retention. Slightly tangy, earthy fruits and yeasty notes combine with more typical IPA notes of citrus, grapefruit, stone fruits, pine and resin. Some bready, biscuity, nutty malts on the palate. A little choccy too. Mid-weight with medium carbonation and a moderate length and intensity bitterness to finish. Decent and fairly unusual. I happily drank the can but I’m not sure how keen I am to pick up another.

A dark IPA? The hops disguised in a chocolaty mystery, nose is like the first whiff you get when you nick your grans licorice stash, sweet, light and rich all at the same time, creamy on the lips, lingers long, great beer.

I expected something like an IPA from the name. This very dark. Didn’t get much hop aroma, maybe slightly old? Malty and roasty though. Kind of dry, didn’t leave me feeling like a session on it.. Enjoyed it, just not what I expected.

375mL can, BoozeBud Advent pack. Deep copper tones with substantial head, shining bright as it pours from the can. Great fresh citrusy aromas with passionfruit and pear in the mix. Delectable, well-defined flavours, bold, crisp, bitter, burnt caramel, a bit herbal and definitely spicy. An impressive brew.

deep brown pour with a thick off white head. Toast, toffee, citrus aromas. Taste is toffee, a little pine, a little fruit. Bitterness builds up at the end, finishes dry

Day 21 of my advent calendar.
Quite a rampant pour. Three inches of rocky foam dons it and holds well a good inch out the brim of thee glass. Misty and luminous, deep, copper chestnut body with fine conditioning. Floral and voluptuously fruity nose with hints of papaya, mango and peach with a big wad of passionfruit coming through. A full 360° on the palate. The tongue bares the heavy burden of roasted peanuts, husks and all. Very nutty, woody and dry with the juicy esters of the nose drowned out by malts. A mere sweet, honeyish tickle to the tip of the tongue. mildly bitter and slightly tannic drop-off in the swallow. Light spice with a hint of mace and camphor. A little muddled. One for a re-rate! (33cL can, illegible date stamp, Boozebud)
