bottled. Bit of a metallic twang to this amber coloured beer. The taste is mostly bitterness and unexciting. From memory this is better on cask (but not much!)

jerohen (2296) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2004
Orange golden coloured. Hopbitter flavour, some sweetness. Ok bitter, but not significantly better than the other bitters from Youngs.

caesar (7156) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2004
Clear orange color, medium white head. Aroma is very weak, bitter, golding hops. Soft malty bitter taste, some bacon notes. Bitter palate. Very weak bitter, i've had much better.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2004 Bottled
Very welcoming hoppy aroma. Nice lacing starts almost yellow. Colour is copper almost amber. Flavour starts as lightly hoppy but finishes quite quickly. Gives weak but tasty hoppy aftertaste. Very drinkable. (7/4/6/3/13 3.3)
Re-rate, draught:
Hazy amber with creamy and steady white head. Sweet floral aroma. Watery, sweet malty, slightly herbal and grassy. Too thin. (5/3/5/2/10 2.5)

sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 10, 2004
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2006 (Bottled) Hazy light amber color with a medium, cloudy head and nice lacing. Mild, but pleasant aroma of woody, flowery hops and honey. Mellow, woody-hoppy, dryish flavor with not much maltiness, and a quickly fading finish. Smooth and creamy, although quite carbonated, light to medium-bodied palate. A decently pleasant, yet very easily drinkable brew with a delightfully low ABV.

the epitome of average english pint. pleasureable, if forgettable. all the youngs beers have a more astringent flavor, (assertive would be a more complimentary word) than their london counterparts, but are still nice drinking. the other youngs beers are more representative

Frank (4194) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 1, 2003
One of the better lower-alcohol English bitters. Very pale golden. Thin head bud decent foamy lace. Hoppy aroma, slightly bready. Mild flavor but tasty--ever so slightly sweet with a nice hoppy finish.

omhper (25139) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 1, 2003
Bottled. Pale bronze with rich, stable head. Intense flowery hop aroma. Sweet and bold, yet with watery mouthfeel. Feels like a strong ale with added water. The finish provides a small blast of flowery hop bitterness, but on the whole this is a disappointing effort froma usually good brewer.

nigos (631) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2003
Had in bottled form. Pours with no head in a light copper colour. Has a hoppy nose and is quite highly carbonated. Weak and unoffensive hoppy taste. Standard stuff.
