Medium, creamy, white head with larger bubbles over clear yellow body. Thin hop aroma. Taste of sourish malts with resiny hops and softly bitter aftertaste. Pine needles. Quite good, highly drinkable. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 8, 2005
Pale orangey golden body with a tightly beaded white head. Citrus hops predominantly on the nose along with some chalky yeast. Aroma follows through to the taste, grapefruit, floral characters and lemon. Thin in body with a lasting soft carbonation. Not my favourite style but still drinkable. Could sell the bottle conditioning. johninmelb (1127) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2005
Bottle. Citrus nose that carries into the initial flavour. No head. As with many Youngs beers, over carbed - I think I need to hunt some down on tap to try them without this annoying distraction. The flavour on this one supports it well though, with a strong citrussy hop finish. davegore (223) - liverpool, Merseyside, ENGLAND - OCT 20, 2005
bottle from of licence, nice strong head, lots if citrus on the palate with a good dry and bitter finish Storm (2684) - Amager, DENMARK - OCT 19, 2005
50 cl bottle. Little yeast in bottom. Golden colour with a fizzy head. Aroma of citrus and fresh fruit. Great flavour of hops. Nice mouthfeel. Medium body.

citrussy hops in this beer makes it bitter and grapefruit tasting. not bad, just average and lager-like. nice session beer thought. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2005
Having had a pint of Carlsberg at the Rugby, I hastened home because I knew I had a bottle of good, London-brewed Young’s Champion in the fridge for the evening. To my surprise this turned out to be virtually indistinguishable from the Carlsberg. Began to think I was stuck in one of those ’recurring nightmare’ scenarios beloved of science-fiction scriptwriters. harrisoni (19159) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2005
500ml bottle from Asda. Hazy paleish gold with thin white head. Grapefruit and some hop aromas. Did I think this was a lager? Well it has some over carbonation and maybe a bit of cardboard, but otherwise it is pretty much a golden bitter. OK in mouth apart from too many bubbles with grapefruit sllightly yeasty finish. 500 ml bottle courtesy of my sister-in-law’s boyfriend... much thanks! Hazy yellow/gold beer with a thin white head. Spicy aroma, bready malts and a touch of orange citrus and light apple/berry fruit as well. Flavour is well balanced, light body, bready/crackery malts flavour, light bitterness, and a fresh yeasty finish. Fruity and softly spicy. Nice beer. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2005 Bottle. Pretty boring, but nice and clean , with some citrusy sort of hops and a lightly sweet mouthfeel. Very easy to drink, but not something i would seek out again.
