UPDATED: JAN 3, 2006 I’ve never been a fan of Youngs offerings nor have I been a fan of oatmeal stouts. Pours black with a tan head. Smells of nuts, coffee, yogurt, and brown sugar. Taste is very sweet with chololatey elements.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 1pt 6 oz - Poured Dark brown with ruby highlights. A nice fluffy tan head graces this and lingers and laces a little. Aroma is of creamy milk chocolate. Flavor is pretty much roasted chocolate. Slightly bitter on the finish. The palate is somewhat watery for a stout. Not as creamy and smooth as others that I have tried. Also lacks the complex flavor that I’ve come to enjoy in stouts. This one is pretty much just chocolate. Fair and drinkable thought to say the least.

Out of the widget can, pours smooth, dark ruby black color, creamy lasting head. Aroma....smells chocolately. Tastes..chocalately malty. Very smooth. A little heavy on the back of the tongue and on the sweet side, but not very complex in taste. Highly reccomended.

4.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of my Favorite stouts. The slightly bitter, slightly chocolate aftertaste lingers ever so slightly, leaving you wanting more. It’s smooth and creamy with a long lasting head, but kind of heavy. I’d not recommend more than one at a sitting.
