The perfect-looking stout. This stout is chocolaty for sure, but it doesn’t overdo it. It amazes me how some Youngs are so good and others are so bad - no middle road. Weakish finish is the only downside to this one...that and there are better stouts for equal or less money.

Tasted 16/04/2005. 500ml bottle from Woolworths, Kilbirnie. Pours an inky black with a large velvety darkish tan head. If you’re really looking for something else, you can see some red hues in there when held up to the light. There’s a boisterous nose of chocolate and coffee, which also strongly dominate the flavour, which is a nice entwined bittersweet balance. Very smooth on the way down. This is my kind of stout, you can go shove your widget. Would like to try the casy version.

Draft at tee Flying Saucer. Head was thinner than I expected. Chocolate flavor is very prominent. Seemed a bit thin. Nice Desert Brew.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2006 Dark color with a light brown head. Smells faintly of chocolate and a little bit of citrus. Tastes deliciously creamy, chocolate is evident, as is milk and a bit of grain and nutmeg? Slight bitterness on th finish. Also this stuff is pretty cheap, 2.75 for a 1pint . 9 oz. I loved this and would definititely reccomend it.

Balck and nice light brown head. Roasted Chocolate aroma. Dark chocolate and toffee. Creamy malts. Ends a little watery but good coffee bitter follows.

Pours a beautiful frothy light brown head on a black body. The aroma is roasted with a sourish tone and notes of sweet chocolate. Flavor is hard roasted malty with lots of chocolate and some hops plus a strange tone of sour malt. Foamy mouthful. Definately good, but lacks a bit of balance.

In the NITROCAN, which I’m told is much better than out of the bottle so I feel lucky. Had it at the totally awesome and well stocked Stuff Yer Face in New Brunswick, NJ. So many times at various places I have passed up the Y’sDCS...but not this night. Creamy. Delish. Chocolatey. Wateriness mentioned by others not present. Get the NITROCAN

Aroma is not very strong, noticed chocolate(malts), banana and some alcohol. Colour is very dark brown, nice tan head. Flavor is complex, dark chocolate, coffee, some ash as well. Not as wellbodied as I expected, finish is a touch on the watery side.
