Beautiful black/ruby color with a lush oily tan head. Chocolate nose (saw that one comeing) with some dry stout roastieness. More chocolate with dry coffee in the mouth but a little thin feeling and some acridness in the finish. Good but needed a bit more oomph.

Bottle 330ml. Jet black, tanned head. Chocolatey aroma, some roasted almost peaty aroma. Somewhat watery, but pleasantly bitter, taste. Enjoyable in a case where an imperial stout is too much.

the aroma is caramel and chocolate with hints of vanilla, toffee, cocoa, toast and nuts... the taste is caramel and chocolate with notes of roasted malt, cocoa, toffee, toast and cake... sweet, dry and bitter aftertaste...

Pours a beautiful pitch black body with a nice big brownish coffee coloured head. A truly beautiful stout. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Very strong aromas, almost like an imperial stout. Taste is far more mild though, but still excellent. Flavours of dark chocolate are most forward, but with hints of coffee as well. The mouthfeel is slick and incredibly smooth; it goes down very easy. Finish is dry and sweet, maybe a hint of bitterness there but I would categorize this as a sweeter beer. Overall this beer is excellent, I can imagine this being a very good beer to get into stouts with. It's mild in the flavours, but what's there is excellent and I will definitely be having this again.

Copenhagen 8/3 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Purple waves and Young'sproud, golden Ram on the label. Pours very dark brown with bubbly, lightly beige head. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam. No lacing. Aroma is mainly sweet. But with a dark bitter streak. Brown sugar intermingling with dark bitter chocolate and cocoa. Surprisingly strong carbonation and rather thin texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by rather strong bitterness. Semi dry finish. Quite nice take on the Chocolate Theme by giving me the bitter dark bitterness to supplement the natural sweetness.

An obvious and perhaps unfair criticism but it's too chocolaty for me. The bitterness of the dark chocolate flavours don't combine well with the sweetness and the thickness that may have made up for this just wasn't there. I feel it's a stout you will like if you expect to like it. I won't be going out of my way to taste this one again however.

500 ml bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a lasting tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, some smoke. Taste: roasted malt, dark chocolate, bitter cocoa, coffee with strange pepperily bitterness lingering behind. Slightly sweet. Thin mouthfeel.

17Beer (483) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 24, 2018
1 pint nitro can. Scents of malt and chalk. Pours dark black red. Classic tiny bubble creamy head. Massive chocolate tastes with trailing vanilla. Very sweet with a slight balancing single bitter note in the finish. Too much candy.
