With its fresh natural taste, delightfully smooth palate, full rounded flavour and great hop aroma, no wonder its Special.
100% malt brew: Marris Otter and crystal malt with Fuggle and Goldings hop creates a satisfying rounded pale ale.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - mainly toffee. Some light dry biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - old style beer but solid enough.

hauxe (1015) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - MAR 27, 2016
Rated from old notes. Frothy, rust colored ale. Musty and unsettling aftertaste strengthens mid-bottle. Cloying. Decent, but one was enough.

MrTipple (6952) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2014
Aroma: floral hops, light bread malts. Appearance: dark clear gold, hardly any head. Taste: light sweetness. Palate: bitters coming up, average-long finish, flat carbonation. Overall: OK ESB, lacks complexity in both aroma and palate. Pint at Coach & Horses, Barnes.

Grzesiek79 (4480) - Radom, POLAND - MAR 18, 2012
barnyard, floral, hay, bubblegum, amber, sparkling, white foam, medium sweetness, very bitter, heavily sour, full body, thick feel, soft carbonation, bitter, long finish,

Koelschtrinker (22056) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 5, 2011
Test vom 5.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,9,9,9,13,9

Bottle, 2002-06-23, Scotland Not good not bad! Fruity flavors with caramel and buttertoffee

Crafty07 (404) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - OCT 23, 2008
This malty bitter makes all the ’best of’ lists and proves its worth with the great malt character and subtle carbonation. I can’t believe these guys closed after 170+ years of brewing!

fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2008
