Bottle from Waitrose 2007. Dark ruby with an off white head. Sweet malts with some caramel and a gentle hoppy finish. nate2g (1548) - Boomtown!, AUSTRALIA - JUN 27, 2009
Bottle. Pours dark brown with light reddish hue streaks and a creamy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, chocolate and caramel. The flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and caramel. Medium bodied and I’m getting some sourness towards the finish. Could be an old bottle which I’m more convinced as I drink this. Would like to try this again when fresh. Cola brown pour with a light tan head. The bottle expired in 08 but it is really tasty. Mild malt aroma. Very smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nice malt flavor, everything melds together well. As the beer warms up(started at 45), the maltiness is more noticeable. Nice lacing on the glass. terrybail (704) - London, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2009

500 ml bottle bought at College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a ruby-brown color with a very large and thick cream colored head. The aroma is very light toasted malts and nutty notes. The flavor is very nice; smooth bursts of fruit, toasted malts, light nutty flavors and a rich and full mouthfeel. Very nice. I love the label and the beer. Easygoing and yet very flavorful. Great. Also, this beer is a few years old, best by September 2007, but still quite good. I’ll re-rate when I get a fresher one.

not terrible but not much of a warmer. Pretty thin - decent favor - drinkable Fruitfly (59) - , Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2008
Hazy and dark orange amber with very fine diminishing head. Aroma is lightly roasted crystal malts and small hints of spicyness. Very light body with a light toffee and sugar sweetness that dries out in a long rather bland and dry finish. Overall little dimension for a special seasonal brew and light in body for a real warmer.
