COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - October to January.
Production moved from Youngs to Wells & Youngs in October 2006. Brand acquired solely by Charles Wells in 2011.
Ingredients: Maris Otter and crystal malt with cane sugar added to the copper with Fuggle and Golding hops.
The definitive winter beer and a long-time Young’s favourite, Winter Warmer is a champion cask ale that is an essential warmer during the winter months.
"Rich ruby coloured beer, almost red in bright light. Complex fruity nose with hints of candy. Luscious and full bodied, with a powerful mouth-coating flavour leading to a bittersweet, vinous finish."

Cask at Crosse Keys, London. Red dark brown with white head. Fairly sweet with caramel flavour and hoppy. A bit thin for the strength and style.

Deep reddish-brown, sugary malts, plums, raisins and a hint of nuts and wood. This is pretty nice but palate seems thinner than I remember. Not that complex but still a good beer.

At Dirty Dick’s, London. Dark brown/red with a small beige head. Aroma is very light, but I get some spices. Taste: oranges, grapefruit, some spices, medium bitter, quite a lot going on here, but I can’t place anything else. Medium body, low carbonation. Not as good as I remember it from a few years ago, but still good and drinkable.

Tasty, warming pint. Nice nose of dark fruits, and the taste is of raisins and crystal malt. Nice clean thick white head, poring a deep amber colour. Does what it says in the tin, and rather well.

Cask in the Flask NW3. Reddish tinge to a brown beer. Warming and malty, some pleasant bitterness. A bit of a boozy kick. Overall not bad.

Cask @ the Clarendon, Leicester. Dark brown colour with cream coloured head. Aroma is very malty. Taste is again malty with a nice full mouthfeel. There is an almost coffee bitterness to finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ruby in color with almost no head. Not much different than most real ales, but a good beer none the less.
