In short: A rich caramelized and resinous-hoppy barley-wine-ish beer with a few off-flavors. Decent.
How: Bottle 330ml consumed (probably fresh) a week after I got the bottle from Teddybeer, thanks a lot Jos.
The look: Cloudy light-brown body topped by a persistent medium beige head.
In long: The strong nose is rich caramel and resinous hops. Body is very full and with an overly active carbonation. Taste is simple but effective. Big creamy caramelized malts, plenty of resinous hops, a certain acidity because of the excessive carbonation, virgin oak, cardboard-like oxidation. The barrels thing is really not overdone, to the contrary, the wood is well integrated and remain a secondary flavor in the overall flavor spectrum. The base IIPA is gone, killed by the wood aging, what we now have is a hoppy barley wine, a simple hoppy barley wine that would have been pretty good with a softer carbonation and no oxidation. And speaking of Guinea Pigs, I sometimes feel like a guinea pig when I drink an experimental beer like this one, and also when I dont drink an experimental beer, what Im trying to say here is that Im very ugly.

300 ml bottle from Cervezalandia, Spain. Poured a very cloudy orange-amber color with a very thick and big head. Aromas of lemon at first, some citrus notes, and maybe some notes of caramel and oak-wood when it got a little warmer. Tha taste was more or less the same but ot so pleasant. Had a soapy feeling to the mouth. medium body and maybe a little more carbonation than what i expected. Not impressed, a bad bottle perhaps!

Very cloudy orange-caramel body. The head is at first very big but soon leaves a thin foam layer. Smells like citrus, full of lemon, a bit wood and a hint of caramel. Pretty much the same taste with something that was like soap. Medium body, high carbonation.

Bottle. Fruity wodden nose. Coudy red orane, golden cream. wooden - vanilla, tobacco entry, grassy, pine and citric hop notes, vanilla retronasal. Fullbodied, dry, resinny mouthfeel. A little bit too sticky, but nice balance all in all.
