BarbasA (46) - PORTUGAL - JUN 5, 2015
Dark brown, aromas of chocolate and coconut, in the mouth some sweetness with hints of roasty and a grat bitter finish.

doradobotella (242) - Madrid, SPAIN - APR 30, 2015

Intensidad justa y textura cremosa.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2015 Full bodied, thick, creamy, with very soft carbonation. Dark brown body, thin but persistent beige foam. Aroma is malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, hazelnuts. Medium sweet, low bitterness. One of the best Iberian beers I’ve tasted so far. EDIT 06/2015: new batch (10-14) is a bit more bitter than the one I’ve tasted before, with some alcohol noticeable in the aroma. Still stellar!

In short: A sticky resinous rich brown ale, almost a sipper.
How: Bottle at Chimera, Oviedo Spain.
The look: Murky dark mahogany body topped by a beige ring of foam.
In long: Nose is is very richly malted with aroma of toffee, nuts and raisins along with a strong hops essence . Body is very thick (a bit too thick) and with a minimal carbonation that makes it feel even heavier. Taste is very heavy. Rich malts, raisin pie, brownies, juicy resinous hops. Probably quite a bit of sweetness but the monster dry hopping and hops resin completely hide it. Overall a tasty but very sticky beer, a more active carbonation would have helped drinkability a lot, but the bottle I had was a long beer to drink. A beer graciously offered to me by ratebeerian Lowenbrau, thanks David, there are some really nice people on ratebeer, I wish I was one of them.
