2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
First beer rating for me. I’m partial to bock, not a Yuengling fan but saw this and gave it a try. This is light compared to other bocks I’ve tried and finishes with that Yuengling after taste but its not as strong as the lager after bite. I would drink again but would rather have a Shiner.
Bottle from my parents poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a semi-burnt dark orange to amber color with a little white cap of a head that fell off at a moderate pace. Slight lace.
The aroma had some caramel malts, dark bread, touch of roast, sweet wood, earthy and grassy hops and a little bit of butterscotch at the end.
The flavor was mainly sweet through the prior mentioned aromas to slide into the aftertaste and follow through on the finish.
The palate was almost medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Pretty smooth along my tongue.
Overall, pretty nice bock always nice to have this time of the year. wlajwl (7005) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 16, 2017
Aroma and flavor is caramel/malts, slightly thin and a mix of sweat and slightly tart in the finish. voyageurmike (500) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2015
From a bottle. Dark amber with sizeable tan head, faint malt aroma. Thinnish, not as rich flavored as you would expect for this style. Finish is not unpleasant, but not exciting either. Drinkable, a nice Yuengling. mike67 (1241) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2015
12 oz bottle. Pours light brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel malt, grassy hops and some cherries. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Taste is of caramel malt, herbal hops and some dark fruit, well balanced. Finish is long, semi-dry. Exceeded my expectations. sturmthis (1149) - Bavaria, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2014
12oz bottle. Brown with almost no white head. Bready aroma. Taste is sweat malt, but isn’t so potent. Just an okay bock.

Bottle->shaker. Brown with small white head. Bread, grains, nuts, caramel. Boring. chinchill (5224) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 8, 2014
12 oz bottle.
Clear dark reddish-brown body covered by a decent head that had good retention.
Aroma: attractive light and medium malts with a hint of toffee.
Flavor: a bit weaker than expected (from aroma), and more like a brown ale than anticipated. Excellent bitter-sweet balance.
O: best Yuengling? ... maybe. Certainly much better than expected and preferable to most major brewery offerings. MercyDevice (365) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Caramel-colored, with a medium-sized head. Pretty standard bock - not bad, but not fantastic. Some spice, malt, and yeast notes. devman171 (1221) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Bottle. Aroma is light roasted malt with a slight spice and floral yeast. Taste is mild roast with a light bitter finish, not much here Darkmagus82 (2302) - - MAY 19, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a light brown color with a white head. The head fades very fast leaving just the slightest bit of lacing.
Smell – Bready malt mixed with a bit of caramel. Nothing too potent, but not lacking either.
Taste – Bready sweetness of some roasted malts mixed in with a bit of caramel are the initial tastes present. These last through the taste experience, but fade in intensity as time progresses. Toward the very end of the taste there is an ever so light amount of bitterness which finishes off the sweet flavors and round out the taste quite nicely actually.
Mouthfeel – Moderate body and moderate carbonation. Very average. For the bock style it may have a bit too much carbonation; but really not too bad.
Overall – For the price, Yuengling comes though again. While not the best bock you will have, they make a pretty decent brew at a good price.
