A very solid porter; very drinkable. Not a Old World-style porter by any means however.
12 ounce bottle at Winking Lizard. Thin head Not much film on glass Really dark brown in color. Thin and smooth. Taste the malt and no taste really lingers. Just above average For the style Cheers! yespr (49198) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2017
12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown. Small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Breadish and roasted. Bitter, roasted, dsrk malty. Mild metallic. Roasted and dark malty finish. ronaldtheriot (2041) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - NOV 19, 2017
Yuengling Porter has a thin, beige head, a very dark brown (with ruby highlights) appearance, and minimal glass lacing. The aroma is of cream, dark-roasted, but not burnt, malts, and brown sugar. Taste is of bread crust, an acrid note, some char, peat, and cream. Hop bitterness is low. Mouthfeel is medium, and Yuengling Porter finishes mostly dry. RJT

From old tasting notes. Ah, the famous Pottsville Porter. Translucent reddish brown color with a bubbly light brown head. Roasted malt coffee-like aroma. Good roasted malt flavor in foretaste. Lightly bitter hop finish with a lingering aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, well balanced and tasty. A decent American Porter at a good value. arn8897 (458) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - AUG 13, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2017 Pours a deep brown to black with an off white head. Aromas of malt and coffee. Taste the same with a little bit of chocolate also. Little lacing in the glass. Light palate and decent clean finish. Not to bad for the price.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark red/brown almost black color with a slim white foamy cap of a head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some light stringy lace.
The aroma had a blend of sweet milk chocolate, dark fruits, caramel/butterscotch smooth sweet maltiness and a little bit of tootsie roll.
The flavor was sweet all of the way through bleeding into the aftertaste as I expected it would. Finish was sticky sweet.
The palate was just a bit under medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation was fairly low but acceptable. ABV felt good.
Overall, seems like an English styled porter to me, I would have again. koleminer20 (4261) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2017
12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 because fuck him. The pour is a dirty red brown with a thick ring of very light tan head and a few spots of lace. The aroma is very roasty and coffee forward. This is a mess. Light chocolate, sharp alcohol, and a lingering sweetness that has no place. The flavor is terrible. The flavor is like a sweet chocolate milk with a roasty malt and I don’t like it. This isn’t good. The mouth feel is watery and very light with a bright spritzy carbonation and a sharp lactic and toasty finish. No thank you at all. Ugh. ebone1988 (2294) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2017
Bottle shared with koleminer20. For the book. Aroma is annoyingly sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, biscuit, candy. Appearance is reddish brown, light tan head, poured incredibly thin. Taste is roasted malt, slight coffee, sweet, not complex in the slightest. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, spritzy, slight coffee and roasted malt aftertaste. Overall, this is no good. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 5, 2016
Pours a dark brown color with off-white almost tan head. Coffee, nuts, and roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more roasted notes than anything else, a little cocoa sneaks in too. MadRobin (2989) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - SEP 28, 2016
Poured from 12 oz. bottle.
Opaque, brown-black with a 1-finger buffy-tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of caramel malt, plums, licorice and chocolate with mere hints of roasted malt.
Taste of toffee, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, coffee and a very mild nuttiness.
Medium/light body and high/medium carbonation.
Sweeter, maltier and with a thinner mouthfeel than a typical porter. Not great, but not bad either.
