An opaque brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted. While the flavor is sweet, with slight notes of roasted malt and chocolate.

Bottled. Black colour, mediumsized brown bubblyish foamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, smoke and some hops. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, some slight chocolate and some caramel. Some slight bittering hops in finish. Hoppy and roasted aftertaste. Smooth and pleasant.

Bottled. Dark brown with rich head. Slight aroma of figs and honey. Sweet, fruity and reasonably malty with plastic bold mouthfeel and low bitterness. Remarkably similar to lighter examples of Baltic porters brewed in ex-Soviet countries.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Dark as a Porter is supposed to be with a reddish tint and a light brown head. Slightly burnt notes with a dry bitterness. Basically a very light beer without much body. A Porter by traditional British standards and far from the heavy stuff (Imperial Stout) we call Porter in Denmark.

Very dark brown; aroma of liquorice, prunes, buckwheat honey, burnt raisins - this is macrobrew? Slightly fizzy, but fairly smooth in its dark malt palate - hints of black currant & liquorice, finishing slightly watery. A decent brew today; thirty years ago I would have been making pilgrammages to Pottsville.

Pour is dark almost black. Nose and taste of chocolate malts. Very lager like. Rated 6/29/02

Old stubby bottle. Pours dark brown cola with a bubbly tan head. Kind of a dark caramel aroma. Medium body. Lots of chocolate character. Not too bitter, but enough to offset the malt. Not getting more than a hint of coffee. Decent but not destined for the top 10.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Dark brown with a beige head. Malty aroma with a bit of roastiness, some toastinessm nuts, caramel and some chocolate. Dry-ish flavor, has a bit sweetish and slightly acidic malt, a bit of dark bread, a bit of chocolate, caramel and a slightly roasty finish. Medium-bodied. Pretty light but OK.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a small rocky off-white head that was mostly diminishing. Light aroma. Medium sparkling body with a thin texture. Light bitter sweet flavor with short finish.

Very dark brown with small mocha head. Aroma is raisin and chocolate, with some coffee. Taste is mildly sweet and chocolate-ish, but suffers in comparison with the aroma. Palate is adequate, but a bit overcarbonated.
