Watery not much flavor, the color is more of an amber than the typical wheat colored light beer. It tastes muchlike a fountain drink imitatio nof a beer. Slightly better than a bud or coors light but not much. chrissy (122) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 27, 2008
Bottle: Light watery. Flavor of old vegetables. Not worth the time when the regular is so much better StoutOrDeath (121) - USA - DEC 17, 2003
I love Yeungling beers for one simple reason--the price. It's a macrobrew but it's not from the big boys,so in a way it's a micro-macrobrew. But having said that, light beer sucks. This one is no exception. blueduk (118) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - DEC 24, 2006
Pours clear golden/light brown. Small white head with some retention.
I had to sniff about four times to find any aroma at all. There are suggestions of hop, but mostly the smell of dissolved salts in the water. Thin palate, watery and quite carbonated. Faint corny malt grittiness. Swill. cryfreedmb (113) - Ocean, New Jersey, USA - AUG 11, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2007 This is a pretty decent LIGHT beer. If it’s flavor that you desire and are looking for something low in cal’s and carbs this is your brew. It has a slight metalic after taste but overall goes down smooth and has a good flavor. Plus it’s very reasonabily priced. Great brew for pacing yourself while hanging out at a BBQ or watching football all day.

Tastes like Grass someone pee’d on light. All that was available at Thanksgiving that I attended. rodneykm (111) - Westminster, South Carolina, USA - MAR 22, 2008
This is worse than bud light. I never thought I’d say that about a Yuengling beer. cjw163 (109) - hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2006
12 oz bottle at a Penn State tailgate... not a very good lite at all. would rather drink a Miller Lite or a regular lager. hawkshadow (107) - Rural Retreat, Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2004
THIS IS A LIGHT BEER. That stated, it is one of the best I have tasted. Comparing it to full lagers is not quite fair, but this one actually tastes better than it’s full lager brother. This is my everyday beer, smooth, smells good and very consistent batch to batch. If you’re looking for a sub 100 calorie beer, I doubt you can find a better flavor. Highly drinkable and tastelist. Aroma is some faint hints of hay and water. Color is fizzy and yellow. Taste is carbonated water, not much else, maybe a hint of banana. Palate is ultra dry. All of this implies a terrible drinking experience but it will get you messed up.
