2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
is this how it is supposed to smell? It smells skunky right out of the bottle... but also oddly like it has chocolate... tastes better than it smells though
Backlong entry. This beer is close to style with typical flavors. Well rounded and clean. Nothing too outstanding or unusual. monkeychugg55 (1109) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2016
Clear golden with a lot of tiny bubbles that form a small, dense, head. The aroma is a bit skunky, with some floral and slightly spicy hops, and some mild malt sweetness. The flavor has a touch of bread, with some tartness, and a fairly balanced finish. Zetton (2) - - NOV 5, 2016 does not count
Shhhh. True beer lovers best kept secret. Yuengling describes this as a craft-style ale on their site, and that’s exactly what it is... only at macro brew prices. A recent trend among craft brewers is to make "sessionable" pilsners and lagers. I’ve tried a few of these. They’re fine but not worth the craft brew prices. None are better than Lord Chesterfield ale that I can get for $20 a case locally. It has the added coolness factor of being brewed at same independent brewery in PA sincev1829. This is a true pre-prohibition style ale. No gimmicks, it’s the real deal. Pours a beautiful gold only slightly darker than a macro lager. A thick snow white head of foam explodes in the glass and subsidies quickly. This beautifully balanced ale is on the lighter side. It has medium carbonation, subtle fruity notes and a surprising hop presence that’s just right. No funky notes and its respectable 5.5% abv is nicely concealed. Far and away the best of the cheapies. If this came in a different can from a craft brewery instead of Yuengling, it would rate much higher. Only one important caveat. Find this in cans, not bottles! This beer will get skunked in bottles ruining its delicate flavor profile. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 29, 2016
a slightly hoppier and more bitter version of the original. Not better or worse, just different. standard yellow pour. Non-offensive floral and grain smell and taste. can8ianben (1577) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 3, 2016
Meh - like a more flavorful ale version of their standard lager? I wasn’t terribly impressed.

Pours a straw color with a white head. Aromas of straw and grass. Not like a typical ale very flat and weak tasting. Needs more flavor l. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Pours a hazy light golden yellow. Aromas of straw/grass/hops. Flavors of light fruitiness, caramel malts, mellow hop finish. Travlr (26065) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 28, 2016

I had it from the bottle. The aroma is grain and fruit. The taste is slightly sweet with a grainy quality to it. It’s crisp and dry. It’s a decent session beer. There’s not a lot going on. It’s inoffensive though.
