Bottle.Toasty caramel malt aroma. Clear amber with a large beige head. Slightly charred toast and caramel malt flavor with an herbal bitter finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Pours a dark orange, caramel color, right for an Oktoberfest. Nice big light tan head that lingers. Nose of sweet malt with just a hint of hops. Smooth mouth feel. Very light taste, mostly up front, not much in back. It’s a pleasant beer, but it’s missing something, I just don’t know what.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2016 12 oz bottle This is good looking beer with complex flavors. The beer poured a clear copper-amber color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a white collar. No lacing down the glass. The aroma of caramel malts. The mouthfeel is brisk and balanced, with soft malt flavors and a flash of hops bitterness that lingers. The medium body beer had average carbonation. The finish was clean with a slightly toasty ending. One of the better marzen style beers this year. this marks my 1100 rated beer. Christmas 2016 enjoyed another at Lt Col Jones home Camp Lejeune, NC. Nicely balanced Marzen beer for the holidays. Now headed towards 1900 beers.

One of my favorite oktoberfest beers this season. For the price, you cannot brat this.

badwhale (420) - Bitterville, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Bottle to glass. Pours a nice rich orange / caramel color with a decent head that dissipates quickly. The aroma smells tart / watery, and it’s somewhat overcarbonated. Tastes similar to lager, but with a slight spice / sweetness. Not bad.

emacgee (4677) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Pours a clean and sharp orange amber with one finger of creamy tan head. Nose is mellow. Some malty sweetness and fruity notes. Flavor is meh, soft malty sweetness and touch of fruity/caramelish notes. Some raisiny notes. Mild herbal hop character. Medium light body and soft bitterness. Very light and soft body.

cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Bottle @ home, courtesy of BlackIPA (I think). Thanks. Pours a touch hazy, dark burnt orange appearance with a thin khaki head. A bit metallic, strong caramel malty, grassy, artificial aroma. Somewhat spicy, vanilla, rich caramel, toasted malty, corny, lightly fruity flavor. Jesus, this just tastes like Coors Banquet Oktoberfest with every corn note and metallic note offered. Fuck you.

Onslow (1497) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear brownish / amber color with generous white head. MIld aroma of caramel hops and a little grass / earth. Some metal or slightly off element in the aroma. Taste is mild sweet caramel, hint of toast, and a somewhat under-hopped grassy finish. Tastes like Yeungling Amber Lager with a little more malt but no more hops. Nice enough.

Pours an orange/amber with a light tan head. Weak bready aroma. Sweet buttery caramel flavor with a slightly odd metallic character. Little hoppiness. Good overall.
