Crisp deep copper coloured body with a light brown highlight and a very thing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, caramel, light nuts and a decent amount of earth - but relatively clean scents. Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted malt flavours with a little spices, some stronger alcohol and a rather pungent metallic and earthy kick at the very end. Aftertaste shows some caramelised sugars, some tannic and drying herbal notes and a bit of alcohol. Overall, a decent marzen, but not great - as expected. Nice to see Yueng try something new, but this one isn’t executed that great. 12 oz bottle from my pops on opening Sunday. Poured originally with lots of large clinging bubbles inside a burnt orange body with a larger rather foamy light beige head. Aroma started off all cereal grains, dust and brown bread with some warming some spice and melted toffee emerge along with a slight touch of alcohol. The carbonation is a tad strong for such a watery medium mouthfeel and finishes bready. Flavor is a bit better then the original aroma, wet bread, dough, malts, perhaps a touch of toffee. 12oz bottle. Fitlered dull copper-orange. Thin off-white head. Sweet, tastes of corn or other adjuncts, in addition to some bland malt. Pretty shabby offering, the corn sweetness doesn’t fit the style at all. Just barely drinkable, certainly cheap and sub-par.

Gold/amber pour with white head. Aroma is light toasted malt and a corn like tone. Flavor is light sweet start with a touch of bitter on the finish. Carbonation a little over the top for me. Comes out of the tap a reddish amber with a fine-bubbled light tan head. Powdery aroma is malty with caramel and earthy undertones. Malty flavor has earthy, caramel and grassy underpinnings - quite satisfying. Body is above average, and fizzy texture leaves a strongly tingly and earthy finish. Prosit! Bottle. Dark ruby-amber with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is malty with caramel, dark bread notes and toasted grains. Taste is primarily caramel and dark bread with more sweet malt notes, toasted grains and hints of toffee. Body is medium with a lively, fizzy carbonation. 12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 7/29/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange.copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Some light yeast fruitiness as well. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Minimal herbal/spicy hop and toasted malt bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Fairly clean on lager flavors; some fruitiness in the aromas, but minimal in the taste. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.45%. Overall this is a very good Oktoberfest style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very malty and flavorful for the ABV, with just enough hops for balance. A very enjoyable offering.
