Dark color, small quickly disapating lace, rather thin. Aroma is slightly malty and quite weak. Flavor starts somewhat malty with some carmel and coffee tones, has a somewhat bitter hoppy middle and finishes slightly sour. Has some good flavors but there all a little too subdued. PBOYNY (316) - Westchester, New York, USA - JUL 21, 2003
an average black and tan that tastes mass produced, somewhat bland, but it does come in a can, and is ok on a cool summer night Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 16, 2003
What I notice first is that it's a bit more complex than one would expect from a mainstream beer-good chocolatey and caramel aromas, and the flavors suggest a nutty quality overall with hints of caramel. Slight coffee nuances come out as well and there is a slight roastiness present but lacking in intensity somewhat. The hop finish is minimal, with a more malty finish. Light and smooth, goes down easy.
A pleasant surprise. NoDonkey (3) - San Antonio, Virginia, USA - JUL 9, 2003 does not count
This beer is excellent in summer or winter, as it full-bodied, but not overly carbonated or heavy. Smooth taste and aftertaste. Good value of the money. DYCSoccer17 (3708) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 26, 2003
Pours an obvious black with a rather robust tan head. Aroma is a mild one of maltiness. Start is a mild creamy taste with a little hoppy-ness going on about midway through, which gradually dissipates with a very smooth finish. The finish is smooth. What really makes this beer is its palate--a fine mixture between low carbonation and heaviness.

A very good black and tan....if you can't have the real thing, this is a great close second. DragonStout (1418) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - JUN 19, 2003
Nice dark color when poured with a slight head.Went down smooth and feel this is one of those beers you can't have too much of. haddon90 (1634) - Newport Beach, California, USA - JUN 17, 2003
Had this on draft. Not a true black and tan. It might have been a bad keg, but the taste wasn't that great. I'll stick with the true black and tan. maxwellplum (54) - USA - JUN 13, 2003
A nice offering from Yuenglin, a good session beer, I actually prefer it out of the bottle, it ages better than most Yuenglings. I often go out of my way for it. StrataFM (5) - Reedy, West Virginia, USA - JUN 10, 2003 does not count
I really like this beer. I have a friend who is from Penn., and he brought down a 12 pack of this beer... I poured it out...beutiful color. The taste was great too. Very smooth...
