3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Once again, the price is what drew me in. It's a pretty good beer. It's certainly not a stout, but for a cheap drink that's not typice macro crap, this is a good choice!
Bottle at Pats of Henderson. Very dark. A little thin. Roasty with corn and some chocolate. Eh. StoutBeerReviews (307) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 21, 2018
Decent beer that's smooth and inoffensive. Watery tho but that is to be expected Rex_Remes (288) - Bonyhad, HUNGARY - JAN 12, 2018
(12oz bottle) AROMA: light roasted malt, touch of coffee, APPEARANCE: very dark brown with red undertones, almost black, coffee colred foam, lingers on side of glass TASTE: a bit of sweet malt/corn, a little toasted grain, caramel, bran, hint of prunes PALATE: not heavy, light and frizzy upfront, smooth and watery finish OVERALL: basically tastes like a heavy lager with some roasted malt qualities (a schwarzbeir), kinda blah for a porter, if lookimg for a light/easy dark beer can give this a try yespr (49198) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 2, 2017

A good tasting beer. Mild vanilla taste noticed. Good flavor. Do they use GMO ingredients?? It appears they do - bummer.
Nice site, thanks for allowing beer lovers to post simple reviews and not have to rate according to the 50 "accepted" measures of a review (based on all sorts of odd characteristics of the beer) as is done by some sites that claim to be your "advocate". 2OLD4BS (24) - west windsor, New Jersey, USA - OCT 15, 2017
Very disappointed!!! I have been drinking this beer for a very long time. I think 16 or maybe 18 years. I loved the old Black and Tan beer with the dark brown label. It never disappointed. It was very solid dark well made beer! However, the last time I bought the beer it has a brand new white label. The taste has been watered down and it does not taste like the old beer. It just has a hint of its old taste. Too much water it changed so much it is a different beer. What a shame! You can not fool me! I will not be buying it any more. I will take my business some other place. Plenty of good beers out there. Bif (2422) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - OCT 9, 2017
Can. Pours a dark brown with fair head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, bit of vanilla and grain. taste of caramel, malt with bit of vanilla and grain. Mild bitterness and fairly clean finish. Moderate boy, smooth, bit of malty character but seems a bit watery. gripweed57 (3055) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - SEP 27, 2017
From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Yuengling Half & Half Dark Beer". Clear reddish brown color topped by a light brown head. Subtle sweet malt aroma with a touch of graininess. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, but light. Lightly complex and flavorful. Brief sweet malt finish. Light bodied. chinchill (5451) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 16, 2017
12 oz bottle served in a snifter.
Pours clear but very dark red-brown with a decent head that leaves little lacing. Smooth medium body with medium-light carbonation.
Decades ago, living in Pennsylvania, this was my go to cheap beer. I don’t think the quality has declined, but the competition sure has risen.
Overall: probably still the best brew from Yuengling, but certainly not worth seeking out.
