12 ounce bottle- pours out a uniform dark brown with a thin tan head. Not much in the way of "black and tan" about this brew. Aroma is chocolate and yeast, slightly astringent. Palate is weak to the point of being watery. Taste is like a weak porter, not bad, just a little weak. I’ve had better beers, but not for $5.69 a six. I’ll keep it on the shelf for the relatives.

Very disappointed!!! I have been drinking this beer for a very long time. I think 16 or maybe 18 years. I loved the old Black and Tan beer with the dark brown label. It never disappointed. It was very solid dark well made beer! However, the last time I bought the beer it has a brand new white label. The taste has been watered down and it does not taste like the old beer. It just has a hint of its old taste. Too much water it changed so much it is a different beer. What a shame! You can not fool me! I will not be buying it any more. I will take my business some other place. Plenty of good beers out there.

Can. Pours a dark brown with fair head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, bit of vanilla and grain. taste of caramel, malt with bit of vanilla and grain. Mild bitterness and fairly clean finish. Moderate boy, smooth, bit of malty character but seems a bit watery.

From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Yuengling Half & Half Dark Beer". Clear reddish brown color topped by a light brown head. Subtle sweet malt aroma with a touch of graininess. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, but light. Lightly complex and flavorful. Brief sweet malt finish. Light bodied.

12 oz bottle served in a snifter. Pours clear but very dark red-brown with a decent head that leaves little lacing. Smooth medium body with medium-light carbonation. Decades ago, living in Pennsylvania, this was my go to cheap beer. I don’t think the quality has declined, but the competition sure has risen. Overall: probably still the best brew from Yuengling, but certainly not worth seeking out.

Bottle. Black in color with a tan head that disipated quickly. Roasted malt aroma with dark chocolate, coffee and light toast notes. It is a bit watery but has a smooth finish.

Color of a cola, very dark. I am not a big fan of dark beers, but this one isn’t strong tasting. As a previous review said, it tastes part porter and part lager. Somewhat bitter but not overwhelming. Actually not a bad beer - recommended if you like porters.

Good dark malt smell...Taste is dark malt, lightly bitter...low hops and low to medium flavor..A bit watery finish but smooth...Gaining depth and mouthfeel with warmth and Improving.. got too warm at end and got bad again....definitely a sweet spot in temp for this beer...inravellers rest for Ashley’s grandmother’s funeral
