Don't let the amber color fool you. There's not much else going for this brew. Mild yes. Decent, not really.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2012 I moved to PA 2 years ago and it took me sometime to warm up to "Lager" as it is commonly refered to by the locals. Now I keep it on tap at the house, not the greatest, but a decent value.

Had this in Philly. Better than most macros. Actually has some hops and barley flavor. A dark gold color.

a good tasting beer, easy to drink, great for a cheaper lager, and definetly one of the best beers you'll find at any local frat party

The most amazing beer ever tasted. If you're from Pennsylvania and you don't love it...i don't know what to say. It tastes delicious and has a full body. Not a binge drinking type of a beer, but perfect for the enjoyment of the taste.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 [bottle] Pours a deep golden brown with very few bubbles and not a lot of head. Looks like a beer and not apple juice like many other lagers. Very faint malty aroma with an even fainter hint of fruit. Smooth tasting with little aftertaste. Not very bitter, definitely tastes like a beer. Nice smooth finish. On the whole, one of the best beers I have ever had. Not too overpowering in taste, aroma or carbonation. Makes for smooth drinking. Doubly good for coming out of a green bottle. Most other green bottled beers are very iffy, but not this one.

If you are from Pa this is the party beer. Everyone will drink it and enjoy it. It's not bad but, far from great. One of the best macro's for sure. I hate the green bottles, had 1 to many skunked. Had quite a few that were flat too.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2013 I guess I’m just biased, being from SE Pennsylvania this is THE staple beer. I’ve tried hundreds of others, but I always come back to this one. Always smooth and balanced, your first one is always as good as the twelth of the evening. Oldest continuously operating brewery in America, you gotta love it!

wildchefbill (245) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2003
Pours amber with a nice white head. Mild aroma with a little skunkiness. OK Malt flavor with very little hops. Better than most macrobrews, but not real good.

The single best for the money deal in all of beer. It isnt the best beer, it isnt the most pined for, its taste isnt the best, nor its color, but overall all of those descriptions are better than average and to the tune of 14 bucks a case.
