A classic lager. Not in the class of the good micros, but certainly better than the macro beers out there. Points go to the fact its just called "lager" in bars anywhere in eastern PA.
Flasche in Flughafen Lounge in Philadelphia. Bernsteinfarben, klar, Fingerbreit Schaum. Aroma: Malz dominiert, Hopfen, Karamell, Zitrus. Geschmack:Leicht bitter, wenig Geschmack, etwas Malz (Karamell), etwas bitter, metallischer Unterton. arn8897 (447) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - NOV 5, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2017 Pours a deep gold with a white head. Aromas of malt and caramel. Taste the same with some hop night to it. Light palate. On tap it is much better than bottled or canned. Almost like a different beer. nohopspleez (75) - Georgia, USA - OCT 30, 2017
A not so good beer that has noticed aftertastes (most likely due to green bottles). Do they use GMO ingredients?? It appears they do - bummer.
Nice site, thanks for allowing beer lovers to post simple reviews and not have to rate according to the 50 "accepted" measures of a review (based on all sorts of odd characteristics of the beer) as is done by some sites that claim to be your "advocate". This is the best cheap beer you will find. In the places you can buy it, a case of Yuengling will be the same price for a case of the Budweiser usually, but Yeungling is so much better. It will not blow you away in any way, but the quality for the price makes this the best value for an everyday Lager meccahh69lol (351) - New Haven, Connecticut, USA - OCT 23, 2017
Ah, the pride of Philly and Philly Boy Roy. It has a corny frat basement smell and pours an amber clear extremely dehydrated urine color. The taste is musky, flat, and machiney, neither pleasant nor unpleasant. It is amenable to easy chugs. It is very mediocre and the owners are big Trumpkins so I will now go out of my way to avoid giving them money, but there are worse things out there. Good for a free beer ticket on company bowling night when Coors Light and Bud Light are the other options.

Appearance- amber, clear, white foam.
Aroma - caramel, grass, yeasty
Taste - Light bitterness, light sweetness
Palate - Light to Medium body. Smooth finish with touch of bitterness.
This is a solid American Lager. The bottle I tasted has a slight pungent, yeast smell, but surprisingly did not affect the taste. If you like hoppy beers, you probably will not like this one much. Good choice for those of us who like low bitterness. bjkusserow (2) - - OCT 20, 2017 does not count
America’s oldest brewery is very cool but the hype has to be the difficulty in buying it....not the taste. It’s below average at best.

This is my favorite beer. I want my beer to have a strong aroma. Most beers have no aroma, but when I open a Yuengling Traditional Lager I say "ahhhhh" before I ever take a sip. The aroma is strong and beautiful. The taste is smooth and not light and not heavy, I can drink almost any beer when eating, but not when drinking alone. But for this Yuengling Lager I just love pouring a glass and enjoy just the pleasure of drinking alone! This is not an average beer for me. This one is my favorite and so I wanted to write my first and only review to support it and counterweigh some of the reviews that think this is not a special beer. I can't believe people would want to drink a beer that did not have the great strong beer aroma of a true beer. gripweed57 (2861) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - SEP 28, 2017
From old tasting notes. Clear, deep amber gold color with a light beige head. Earthy, toasted malt nose. Zesty sour hop flavor upfront. some dryness in the middle but the carbonation dominates the palate. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Good flavor but too gassy. snider75 (5) - - SEP 18, 2017 does not count
The bottle is green and they use a very pretty font. It is Americas oldest brewery in Pottsville, PA so that's pretty cool.
