Amber in color with a thin off-white head that leaves barely any lace. Barely any hops. It was comparable to drinking colored water. It stayed well-carbonated, which may have been its only good attribute...besides its color, which is nice as well. I used to drink this beer a lot....but I now remember why I stopped. Boy, moving from Anheiser Busch to Yuengling... err, I mean from St Louis to PA, is a nice change. As far as macro brews go, this is one of the better ones... certainly beating the pants off any AB products that you can buy anywhere. Aroma is a littel grainy and sweet. Appearance-wise, you might actually think this was beer rather than urine. Nice amber color, small head that disappears. Flavor is sweet and watery with definite grain sweetness. Refreshing, but not substantial. stison42 (318) - Blacksburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 29, 2006
Golden yellow. Bitter with a slight aftertaste. If all there is to drink is light beer and this, pick this. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2006
Pours an amber color with a thin white head. Tastes very watery, some maltyness. Just not much here. jrob21 (3663) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 27, 2006
Not much exciting going on here other than the fact that it is the world’s oldest brewery. Otherwise tastes like a macro lager with a little more bitter bite on the back side.

On tap. Poured gold with orange highlights. The head was white and thin. No lacing to speak of. The aroma was mostly hops with nothing special really standing out. The flavor was fairly one-dimensional with hops dominating. The mouthfeel was sub-par as the aggressive carbonation and bitter finish left, well, a bad taste in my mouth. I think this one gets the "Over-rated! clap-clap-clapclapclap" award of the day. mhelgason (495) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 18, 2007
From 12 oz can. Poured gold color with small white head. Very simple and not much on flavor. Alright if you want a beer and only have 10 minutes to drink it. BleacherBum (177) - Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA - FEB 7, 2007
Many of our palates have been spoiled by craft brews, but Yuengling remains a decent lager in the macro section. The 2.0 rating isn’t fair when holding this up to the microbrews many of us have become accustomed to. A very decent brew, especially on a hot summer day by the pool. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 22, 2007
Dark Gold Coloring with White Head. Sweet Grainy Malt and Skunky Aroma. Skunky Sweet/Diluted Grainy Not-Goodness Lager. My bro, who will drink anything, says it’s fine....I rest my case Mike4686 (120) - Bayonne, New Jersey, USA - APR 15, 2007
this is what i’ll go to when i’m short on cash, great tasting lager, goes down easy and not expensive. definitely the best bang for the buck and very drinkable.
