Bottle. I know that I piss & moan about redundant packaging a lot (and this beer is a great example of unnecessary over-packaging to allow a trumped-up price), but presario raises a great point about how this container could be useful in transporting beer in your luggage, so I’m softening my stance a little. Anyway, the beer itself is actually very good. It pours a deep chestnut brown with a hint of ruby, but shows poor head retention. The profile is just how I like it for this particular style: equally roast and hoppy, with definite black malt character in harmony with a slightly piney hop profile. The best of the series so far, for me. thb (847) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 16, 2012
Clear dark brown, few bubbles. Aroma is very citrusy (esp orange), with some floral bits too. Taste shows a more balanced beer, with toast, chocolate coming through from start to finish. Definitely bitter. But balance is there. Flavourful. A kinder, gentler take on the style. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 1, 2012
What happened to 005? Looks like a dark malt beer with a nice head. Smells like hops. Going in the right direction so far. Nice flavour of chocolate-coffee malt and hops. And the containers are great for safekeeping beer in your suitcase while flying. gramity (1684) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 29, 2012
Aroma is caramel and light roasted grains with some citrus notes. Taste is citrusy hop and light roasted grain bitterness balanced nicely with some caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation providing a pleasing mouth feel.

The Pours a very dark brown with small tan head amounting to a tiny tan ring of sticky lace. Smells floral with chocolate and citrus. Flavour is light to moderate citrus bitterness with chocolate. A nice beer overall. patricks110 (2789) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 18, 2012
A really great brew with a lovely packaging....very artsy and eye catching. Pours a dark brown with a thin finger of dark beige head. No carbonation in the body with a sticky head. The nose is sweet, mildly roasted with a bit of chcolate and a floral and citrus hop note. The flavour is a bit sweet in the middle with a great chocolate and mild roasty toasted malts, toffeem , coffee and just dark sweetness. Medium bitterness with a bit of grapefruiit and mild hops. Overall just a great session brew. pintbypint (3924) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 17, 2012
341ml brown bottle, from a tube. dark brown pour, large foamy and creamy head with good sticky edges and great lace rings in the glass. Nose has chocolate malts and a trace of earth, mainly malty. Taste is roasty, dark chocolate notes, late citrusy hops. Lingering leafy bitterness, bit of citrus. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Pretty smooth brew, well done Black IPA. Pours a clear reddish black color with a big off white head that leaves a bunch of sticky lace. Aroma is a cascade chocolate bar, love how the cascade is shining through all these dark malts. Taste is a very well balance of the citrusy hops and the roasted and chocolate malts. Very smooth bitterness throughout. Best beer of the ADD series thus far! reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 15, 2012
341ml bottle pours a dark amber color with a finger of off-white head that retains well and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and light roasted grains with some citrus notes. Taste is citrusy hop and light roasted grain bitterness balanced nicely with some caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation providing a pleasing mouth feel. Overall, a nicely done IPA that is recommended to try.
