When its quitting time around the brewery the team can often be caught snagging a pint of this British style malt forward IPA. We call it Fog-Oclock and its becoming a bit of a Yukon trend! Unlike the hundreds of other IPAs out there, were not going for the hip and hop award with this brew, going over the top with bitterness. Its a session beer for folks who appreciate an IPA with balance.

Narnad's rating

Pours a deep yellow color with a very small, dense white head. Aroma has a mild grassy presence with some light orange citrus and a modest grainy malt presence. Flavor is good but there is a bit of a skunk to it my opinion. Malt is a bit more of a presence than you typically see in an IPA. Body is light and pretty fizzy with some light dryness and a great lacing left on the glass. Overall a decent brew and I understand where the brewer was going. Not a lot of weakness but lacks some of the "umph" to make it an IPA and less of a Pale Ale.

Bottle. Golden pour, slight orange hue. Small white head if poured fast. Faint citrus aroma, more grainy malt. Taste is a touch sweet, with a moderate but harsh bitter finish. while the hops are present didnt find them to be well defined in flavour or aroma.

From a 12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Aroma of caramel and pine. Flavors of grass and citrus. Bitter finish.

Not necessary as bad as all the rating. The thing is it just isnt quite an IPA. More of an EPA. Pours dark golden with ok head. Light bitter finish. Some perfume/potpourri. Easy drinking. Bottle from Manitoba Liquor mart.

Bottle. Clear golden pour without much head. Not a lot going on here in terms of aroma or flavour - pretty thin and light, some slight citrus notes, a little herbal and grassy maybe, slightly metallic. A little on the sweet side, but only because there is very little bitterness. Not exactly terrible, but by no means an IPA.

One of my favourites from Yukon Brewing. Easy drinking IPA with some flavour. One of the best in their line.

Pours a clear golden with a thin, persisting white head. Nose is citrussy with some malty sweetness. Not very intense. In the mouth it?s caramel malts with some citrus hop flavours. Medium pine bitterness. Light body, easy to drink. Medium carbonation. Could be more hoppy.

Aroma of hops with pine and malt undertones. Clear gold color with a short white well laced head. Mild bland taste with just a hint of hops. Creamy feel with a watery malt finish.

341 ml bottle purchased singly from Sobeys Liquor and served in a footed pilsner glass. Pours an attractive, clear golden amber with light carbonation and two fingers of light tan, well-retained head that leaves very nice webs of lacing. Aroma is bright and fresh floral, piney hops, with banana and other tropical fragrances, and a light maltiness. The flowery and tropical natures carry through in the flavor, with a small level of menthol-like cooling from thepine (the Ice Fog in the name, perhaps), and the malt rides along in the middle. Mouthfeel has enough weight and is a little dry as the fresh hops linger a moment. Very refreshing and a well-done pale ale altogether.

It pours a dark apple juice colour with hardly any head and no lacing. The taste leans toward the citrus side of IPAs. Good for beginners to the style but too sweet for vets.
