Pours a dark brown with almost no head. Nose is malty with hints of chocolate. Great malty taste with some roastiness and coffee notes. Medium bitter finish.
A bit metallic. Good balance. vadie (1256) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 25, 2015
Pours dark like coca-cola, minor head with hardly any lacing. It’s heavy on the malt with nice toasted cereals and coffee. It’s a warmer but goes down nicely. Another excellent brew from up north. Hammy78 (974) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 24, 2015
Bottle from my brother in-law. Pours a deep dark as you can go copper, but more on a cola side with copper hues, almost no head or lacing. Nose is sweet caramel malt. Tastes very malty, slight bitterness. Biscuity, caramel, a bit of toffee. thb (830) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 20, 2014
Dark reddish brown. Tall tall bubbles. Aroma is nuts, chicory, toffee, cereal. Taste comes through really malty, quite sweet. It’s a malt-bomb this. Borders on cloying territory, particularly as it warms. Some balancing bitterness, but not enough.

From my haul down from Whitehorse earlier this month.
This one was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a black color with a slim glazing of an off white foamy and bubbly head that dissipated rather quickly. Light speckled lacing ran all around my glass.
The smell was a bit roasty, a little bit of rich caramel coated nuts and a light running bitter coffee all combine to enliven my nose, definitely English by nature.
The taste was roasty and sweet through the nuts and caramel backed up by the bitter coffee to balance. Light chocolate came in as well.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body as I found myself sipping this. The carbonation was there but nothing overbearing. A nice bitter invasiveness rolls over my tongue.
Overall, I really liked this beer and am glad to have another one going into winter. HippyHop (659) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 22, 2014
Another nice offering from these guys. Nose is too dominated by grain, makes it kind of hard to pick out other aromas (faint caramel and spice, a bit of toasted bread) Taste is really nice though. Caramel, toasted grain, hazelnuts, a bit of chocolate and treacle. Sweet overall, with a bit of alcohol warmth, but there’s a subtle lingering dryness on the finish too. Wish these guys were bigger hop fans but their malt profiles are solid. fiulijn (20604) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 6, 2014

Brown color with medium sized head. Immediate aroma of caramel, dark bread, some spices, dust. Good body strength; the mouthfeel is rather dry; the flavor focuses on the dark caramel, followed by a light spicy touch, rye bread, dust; ending with moderate to strong bitterness and light astringency.
Nothing special, but could be ok with food.
Chocolate malt with lots of coffee well balanced by hops. The english would be proud! Lubiere (13954) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 27, 2013
A clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth and powdery chocolate malt with nutty notes, and a touch of licorice. In mouth, a nice sweet nutty malt with chocolate notes, roasted notes, a bit peaty. Nice. Shared with GRM. Merci Sylvain.
