Poured a red amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of oxidation, nuts, molasses, honey, and light smoke. This rich dark brew offers up notes of toffee, dark fruit, dark chocolate and butterscotch. It is perhaps a bit hoppier than what one might expect for the style . Pours a very dark reddish brown with a light tan head. Has a sweet bready aroma, a little cherry, some caramel, surprisingly complex. Unfortunately the flavor seems a little bland, a light uninteresting sweetness. Palate seems slighty thin as well.

Copper red-brown, clear, with a moderate almond head. Rich malty aroma, a little whiskey mash too. Sweet toffe malt on the palate, again an underlying whiskey element and a mildly bitter finish. Not too heavy despite the alcohol. Very balanced, drinkable, and delicious. Much like an old-school porter.

12 oz. bottle brought back to AZ by my mother-in-law - Pours a brown color with a nice light tan head. Light lacing. Has a very light roasted malt aroma. Has a nice roasted chocolate flavor. Hazelnut brown colour. Nutty, chocolatey aroma. The flavour is moderate for a strong ale, and certainly I’d hope for bigger if I wanted to survive a Yukon winter. It’s a little chocolatey, with hints of nuts and light coffee notes.
