Brown color with medium sized head. Immediate aroma of caramel, dark bread, some spices, dust. Good body strength; the mouthfeel is rather dry; the flavor focuses on the dark caramel, followed by a light spicy touch, rye bread, dust; ending with moderate to strong bitterness and light astringency.
Nothing special, but could be ok with food.
355mL bottle, pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and cola. Flavour seems to resemble that of a porter more so, with roasted malts being dominant and decent caramel sweetness. Smooth, slightly bitter finish. Hazelnut brown colour. Nutty, chocolatey aroma. The flavour is moderate for a strong ale, and certainly I’d hope for bigger if I wanted to survive a Yukon winter. It’s a little chocolatey, with hints of nuts and light coffee notes. Ferris (16067) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 30, 2012
Bottle - Dark sweet earthy fruIt, figs and sourness. Rotated malts also on the nose. Dark brown, almost black, with minimal head. Sweetness coming from figs, raisins, cherries and a very mild bitterness. A bit syrupy, served warm would go great with a dessert. I couldnt drink more than one, if one at all. If you could compare a beer to a port this would be the one.

In mouth, a nice sweet nutty malt with chocolate notes, roasted notes, a bit peaty. Nice. Shared with GRM. Merci Sylvain. BeerandBlues2 (13642) - Escondido, California, USA - MAY 4, 2013
