Pour is very dark with a small creamy head. Nose is of sweet malts. Taste is bitter malts with a sweet backing and a slight bitter aftertaste. Overall not too bad but not my pick of the day. northropfrye (3512) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 13, 2013
This was the best of the Yukon beers we tried this evening. Dark and malty. Vanilla and dried fruit. Very tasty. minutemat (5396) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2016
341ml bottle, shared with blackhaddock in his man cave. Many thanks to Duffman for this. Pours deep mahogany, tan head. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste is smooth deep caramel flavours, some dark fruit shading, a hint of leather. Lovely warming moreish character. MissAnthropic (68) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 17, 2016
Oily black pour. Creamy and nutty nose with a lovely explosion of dark chocolate and toffee as soon as it hits your lips. The palate is sticky and lingering. Really good stuff. jercraigs (10303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 6, 2004
Dark brown witha moderate tan head. Aroma is dark roasty malt, and the flavour has delicious chocolatey notes and sweet malt. Slightly roasty bitterness in the finish. A very pleasant way to start things off. Mondiale 3T (Me).

Bottle: Poured a clear dark copper beer with a huge head with good retention. Aroma is quite malty with some noticeable roastiness. Taste is very interesting with some notes of roastiness coming in at first and ending with a balanced bitterness. No too complex beer overall, but a good example of the style. mustang3 (254) - Whitby, CANADA - SEP 24, 2004
Thanks for the bottle JoeMcphee. Poured a very dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is very roasty. The flavour is initially roasted malt followed by a nice sweetness and just a hint of bitterness on the finish. Very enjoyable. GRM (4016) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 29, 2008

An excellent strong ale. Kind of a chocholate colour, with a light brown head... tastes of caramel and malt... very smooth falvour... Yukon’s best one yet! ljthiessen (1324) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 10, 2015
Bottle. Dark brown pour with a ruby hue and a thick off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit and coffee; some dark cherry and plum notes, raisin, roasty cocoa and coffee. Flavour is sweet dark fruit with some roasty bitterness. A little too sweet perhaps, but very flavourful and a really nice malty English ale.
