Bottle @ Calgary Beer Fest. Pours clear brown with a medium, fizzy tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty and toast malt, dates and figs with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, light hops and bitterness with dark fruits and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 20, 2013
Sample at Picaroon's Brewer's Bash. Milk chocolate brown colour. Odd duck this one. Very English tasting, malty and complex. One could probably taste whatever one wanted somewhere in there. Overall, it works reasonably well and is worth a try.

Cheers duffman for this and a host of other Canadian goodies you sent to minutemat. 341 ml bottle shared with Mat on 4th Aug 2016. Brown pour, with a ruby red hue: wispy beige head. Malts rule the roost here with semi-sweet caramel flavours coming through loud and clear. Really enjoyed this, one of the best beers on our little tasting session: my sweet tooth loving the brew straight away. tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 3, 2004
Malty, fruity caramel aroma with notes of chocolate and roasty dark malts. Clear dark amber-brown with decent tan head that recedes to cover. Bittersweet chocolate malt flavours with a decent balancing bitterness. Some alcohol noticeable in the finish. Body perhaps a touch on the thin side for a winter warmer but very enjoyable. Bottle. Thanks, JoeMcPhee.

Pours a very dark reddish brown with a light tan head. Has a sweet bready aroma, a little cherry, some caramel, surprisingly complex. Unfortunately the flavor seems a little bland, a light uninteresting sweetness. Palate seems slighty thin as well.

Clear dark brown with a minor red hue, poured a nice tan head that, after sitting for 10 minutes, had left a nice hilly and smooth cap that had excellent retention. Constant effervecence. Had a good warm burnt aroma with mild coffee notes, a touch of chocolate and solid hops. Good balance. Good burnt smell! I could taste the alcohol, but this was not a deterrent. I like this! It’s got lots of flavour with burnt coffee and possibly chocolate as well. I drank this at room temperature. Feels thick. Nice solid burnt and bitter aftertaste that remained after every sip. A lot better than I first thought. j12601 (13036) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Bottle at Andy’s courtesy of Joe. Pours brown with a thin white head. Nice nutty malt, sweet light roast. Flavors of sweet caramel, and nice nuttiness in the malt. Long sweet roast and malt on the finish. Tasty stuff. bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle from a little liquor store in Lendrum Place (by Sunterra and Jack’s). 7%. Dark brown pour with a minimal tan head that fades quickly to a ring. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, vanilla, hint of coffee. Strong malty notes with a hint of light hoppy bitterness in the finish. 7% abv is well disguised as this feel medium-light bodied. A great brew from Whitehorse.

Bottle from my brother in-law. Pours a deep dark as you can go copper, but more on a cola side with copper hues, almost no head or lacing. Nose is sweet caramel malt. Tastes very malty, slight bitterness. Biscuity, caramel, a bit of toffee.
