COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark chocolate appearance is reminiscent of a porter, and the slightly darkened creamy head tops the look. But the first sip lets you know that this beer can be drank, in quantity if desired (or required?), without leading to an overly full gullet. Intricate malt flavors predominate, with a medium mouth-feel and a very light bitter.

Bottle from my brother in-law. Pours a deep dark as you can go copper, but more on a cola side with copper hues, almost no head or lacing. Nose is sweet caramel malt. Tastes very malty, slight bitterness. Biscuity, caramel, a bit of toffee.

Pours dark like coca-cola, minor head with hardly any lacing. Its heavy on the malt with nice toasted cereals and coffee. Its a warmer but goes down nicely. Another excellent brew from up north.

Couleur du caramel trs foncer avec un petit col tan trs stable. Larme du malt et caramel. En bouche cest presque onctueux avec du malt, pain et caramel, avec une finition trs bien quilibr. Trs bien fait.

12oz bottle from Firefly in Vancouver. Couldnt find the word "Chilkoot" anywhere on the bottle label or the box...what is that about? Pours a porter-like cola brown with decent tan head that last well. Aroma is slightly sweet with strong malt notes of caramel, cocoa, some leather. Taste is fairly thick with malts, toffee (?), slight hit of alcohol, hops subdued but there in the finish. Sweeter than I like. Reminds me a lot of a porter. Its decent but not outstanding.

341ml brown bottle. Dark brown in colour. Head is small but creamy, off white in colour. Decent lacing. Nose has some sweet chocolate malt, faint roasted malt. Flavour has some bold dark malts, pretty roasty, some dark chocolate. Late bitterness. Ends with some lingering roast malt. Medium body and carbonation. Smooth for 7%.

A clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth and powdery chocolate malt with nutty notes, and a touch of licorice. In mouth, a nice sweet nutty malt with chocolate notes, roasted notes, a bit peaty. Nice. Shared with GRM. Merci Sylvain.

341ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a ruby hue and a medium to large, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel and dried fruit. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dried fruit and light spices with a mildly bitter, warming alcohol finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Quite porter like. Pretty good.

From a 12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Aroma of dusty leather. Flavors of raisins. Boozy finish.
