COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Longest Night is dark and malty, due to the generous use of both chocolate malt and black malt. And, let’s talk hops. Longest Night contains plenty of Millenium, Cascade, and Glacier hops used during the kettle boil. But, it also is dry-hopped with both Cascade and Millenium. Coming in at 6.0% abv, full of both malt and hop flavours, and with plenty of hop bitterness, this is not the beer for the faint of heart. Nor is it a beer for procrastinators, as it will likely be gone by New Years. Come fill your growler now! Before it really is the longest night.

Pretty poor for the style. Minimal drinkability. Thanks for trying, Barron. Black, no head, some hops. Lighter than average mouthfeel.

341mL bottle at home. Pours cola brown with a thin light head. Smells of caramel, malt and earthy herbal notes. Not many bitter notes from the malt but lots of herbal and slight woody bitterness from the hops. Nice malty backbone but neither as black or as hoppy as I like my black IPAs.

12oz bottle pours a cola brown with a ring of white head. Nose has mild malt, yeast, smoke, tree bark, earthy. Flavor has more moss/bark, smoke, a little bread. Dry finish.

From a 12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Caramel aroma. Flavors of burnt toast and grapefruit peel. Bitter finish.

northropfrye (3691) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 12, 2016
Dark reddish brown body off white head some speckled lacing. Pours a little thin. Aroma of roasty malts, nuts, dried fruit, biscuit. Taste is sweet roasty makes with a herbal earthy but faint bitterness. More like a slightly hoppy brown ale than a black IPA. Okay.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a light beige head. Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Taste is some roasty chocolate with a bit of citrus hoppy bitterness. Not hugely flavourful for the style, but a decently balanced and very drinkable beer. I love Yukon, but this is not their best.

RobBestwick (964) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 16, 2016
341ml bottle. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Dark brown in appearance with a medium sized head. Roasted coffee, dark chocolate with some hoppy undertones. The malts definitely outweigh the hops. Full bodied with some bitterness in the finish. Not bad.
