COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Glutenfree beer.

Bottled, from S-Market, Hĺkansböle, Finland. Clear deep golden, mid-sized head. Aroma of Earl Grey tea. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and light-medium body. Fruity with some bread, mid bitter finish. Lacks the softness and firmness of the better Czech pilseners, but the hops are there. For a gluten free beer it is quite impressive.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, courtesy of Haddock. Pours a clear gold, thin ring of head. Aroma is lightly corny, syrup, sweetcorn. Taste is clean and quenching, no off flavours, not too bad really.

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into both mug and lager glass. Appearance: Clear golden colour, with small head. Aroma: Weak aroma of grains and malt. Palate: Light body, watery; light carbonation. Taste: Sweet, corn, gentle bitterness. Overall impression: Quite good and drinkable, but nothing memorable. It is better to drink from lager glass than from a mug.

Maybe good for the celiacs so they can enjoy a beer. But not for me, it is quite sweet. Aroma (more like a smell) I cannot describe but not very pleasant. Visual is OK.

330ml brown bottle poured into a lager glass. Appearance is clear yellow with a medium sized frothy white head, that dissipated quickly. Aroma of rice, cereal, cardboard, wheat bread and hay. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Palate is light bodied, slick texture and fizzy carbonation. Žatec Celia is a mass-produced industrialised standard lager targeted at consumers with a gluten-free diet, and this is no worse than a regular lager. This beer reminds me of Asahi Super Dry (that is incidentally also in EU brewed by Carlsberg), overly sweet puffed rice and kind of cardboardy flavour profile. Respect to the brewery for including the nutritional values on the label this should be the norm. The label also confirms that the sweetness is not just a figment of my imagination. The whole bottle contains 14.85g of sugar, which is too excessive for a light lager, this amount of sugar is comparable to 8.5%+ ABV Belgian Triples.

33 cl can. Crystal clear, light golden amber, medium to thin white head, medium carbonation. Not much to the nose, just a slight hint of sweet liquid. Mouthfeel is thin, slightly bitter and dry, no carbonation. Flavours are mild, subdued, just a slight hint of sweet orange and grass. My personal messages to the brewery would be "why bother"?, and "How do you dare to call this hand-crafted"?

Clear gold body and thin white head. Malty and very grassy aroma. Cardboard flavor and little bitter in the finish. A poor beer.

Crystal clear, head disappears so quickly it is virtually non-existent. Light golden color. Aroma slightly grainy, hints of fruit. Palate watery, low carbonation. Taste sweetish, fruity, very low bitterness. I dunno, it does not even taste like beer although it well may be one. Definitely it has some cider-like qualities. As a beer thi s is a fail unfortunately.

Very light golden color with little white head. Sour, metallic, malty aroma. Taste is watery, not much taste at all. Light bitter at the beginning and little sweet in the end. Light body. Not so good.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clearl golden color with thin quickly diminishing white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, grassy, mild vegetably and papery. Taste starts light to medium sweet grainy and crisp, but mellows later, following is vegetably and skunky, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is mild bitter. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Poorly hand crafted, almost the same as other industrial sh*t...
