(bottle, as Žatec Premium Tmavé) Clear, dark brown colour with a beige and thick foamy head. Moderately sweet, nutty and roasty malty aroma with earthy notes and liquorice. Moderately sweet and slightly roast-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly molassy roast-malty taste with liquorice and a tinge of dark chocolate; sweet and roasty bitter finish with notes of chocolate and traces of metal in the aftertaste. Anyway a good one. 30.X.10 MartinT (9932) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 28, 2005

Roasted malt tickles the nostrils, and chats with some fruitiness. All is tame and without consequence. I would like some sweetness to link them.
Roasted berries and feeble caramel are drained of their vitality by the frail body. Lots of carbonation impedes on what little malt complexity there is. An ordinary tmavé without any outstanding qualities.
Yawning helps you pop your ears.
bottle. Dark colour, large head, malty nose. Flavours of malt, roasted malt, slightly caramelly. Not sweet at all, quite hoppy, but not bitter - well-balanced brew. gunnar (9220) - Sandnes, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2010
Bottled as Zatec Premium Tmave. Pours very dark brown with a big off-white creamy head. Aroma of dark caramel and rye bread. Taste is almost balanced, but a bit on the sweet side, light nutty malts, weak roasted as well, caramelly dark sweetness. Medium bodied, ends nice and dry.

Clear amber coloured, small beige head, sugary fruity nose. Light roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits taste with touch of coffee. Strong carbonation but pleasant beer.
this is strange, duff decides he´s coming to visit, i figure we should go on a daytrip to žatec and then he comes out the next day and rates one of their beers. anyway, dark brown, caramel and toffee apple aroma. vanilla and coffee icecream with a surprising amount of late bitterness. luscious and nice, good to know there are still good tmaves out there Sigmund (7654) - Tau, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2011
500 ml bottle, kindly shared by gunnar, as Žatec Premium Tmavé. ABV is 4.3%. Ruby colour, low off-white head. Nice aroma of caramel and butterscotch. Easy drinking. The flavour has notes of brown bread, some caramel but not too sweet. Okay, but not very exciting.

Bottle from Pivoteka Beergeek, Prague. Pours a deep mahogany brown body with a large rocky off-white head. Aroma is caramel, straw, nuts, dusty hops, hints of cardboard and leather. Taste is strong metal notes, caramel, bread, grains and hints of toffee. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Not convincing at all. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2004
Bottle. Surpised that this wasn’t in the database. Nice schwarz. Very dry and bitter, but soft at the same time. Softly buttery, with some light raisin, finishing bitter and floral, with subtle roasted/chocolatey malt, this was really, really nice, and extrememly drinkable. ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 28, 2005
Brown with a light brown head. Sweet chocolate aroma with hints of coffee. Some roasted maltyness, coffee hints and some chocolate bitterness in the flavor.
