Bottle, 0.33l. Sampled as Žatec Dark. Deep ruby pour with minimal white head, vanishing instantly. No lacing whatsoever. Smell of iron and toffee with herbal touch to it. Caramel takes over as it clears up. Thin to medium body. Carbonation is average but prickly on the tongue. A bit watery texture. Bittersweet. Aroma is grainy and malty, a bit of caramel, slightly herbal. Faint corn. Somewhat peppery, slight metal in the aftertaste. Not complex, quite simple but executed fairly well. Finish is a bit dry and slightly bitter. Overall, ok. Drinkable, yes, but quite an unimaginative effort.

330ml bottle kindly shared by Per Pippin. A bubbly fawn-coloured head over a clear dark ruby coloured body. Scattered lacing. Roasted bread on the nose, semi-sweet. Taste of brown malts, moderately roasted. Backdrop of herbal hops, mid-sweet. Medium bodied. Quite alright (Shared with friends at Prestvika, Sommarřya 02.09.2016).
