This Czech lager has a sweet, grainy aroma with notes of banana, roasted malt, slight peat and wood, subtly soapy. It looks thin, dark and somewhat transparent. Smooth in the mouth with a flavor more mellow than its aroma. Full, roasted, and with only a light lager finish. Very nice.

bottle - Pours a dark drown. Not getting much aroma from this beer. Taste is roasty and a little sweet. Palate is light bodied. Overall, OK, but not my favorite.

A pretty good dark lager. Not my favorite style, but this one had a decent amount of body and a simple yet enjoyable flavor.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with copper-amber highlights when held up to the light; has a large beige head with some of the best retention I’ve ever seen. Aroma consists of SweeTarts, toasted nuts, grain. Taste is sweet and meaty with no bitterness. Tastes like cotton candy, caramel. Carbonation is soft and the body is medium. Not bad--or so I thought at first. It starts to get cloying about halfway through.

Sampled on 7/15/2011. This Dunkel pours a dark amber brown color from a 500ml bottle. Small to medium sized beige foamy head with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is malty, caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Dunkel. The malts are caramel. slightly roasty, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice soft carbonation. Nice malty sweetness. Pretty easy drinking Dunkel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

drpimento (3280) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Pretty good beer. Poured with a decent sized, foamy, frothy, thick, creamy, light tan head and a little lace. Color is a clear dark brown amber. Aroma is malt, roast, fresh baked dark bread, toffee. Flavor is similar to nose with a little sweetness that’s nicely countered with the yeast, dark malt, and carbonic acid. Body is good, smooth and full yet cut again by carbonic acid. Finish is like flavor, has good length, and is clean. Session beer.

Pours brown with red taints and a nice beige head, aroma of vanilla, toasted bread, butter cookies and some white chocolate, flavor of roasred malt, dark bread, rye, coffee and some herby hops, medium bodied, a nice dunkel

500ml bottle. Deep burgundy brown-black. Massive, steady off-white/beige head. Mild and smooth, eay drinking dark lager. Creamy. with a mild hop balance. Some berry butterscotch notes in the finish. Thin, medium body. Straightforward, drinkable, but sort of bland. An interesting change of pace but not exactly a World Class Dunkel.
