Sampled at the ’12 Columbe Microbrew Festival. Deep amber color with a sticky, frothy ivory colored head. Nose of raw wet malted grain. Caramel and brown sugar sweetness with grainy bread, iced tea, and some grassy hops. Not really what I think of as a brown ale but an okay beer. Draft sample. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate roasted malt and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Light body with a roasty malt character and notes of mildly bitter herbal hops and caramel. The finish is moderately bitter hops up front with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.
