Bottle at ’t Waagstuk.
Hazy dark amber with a creamy off-white head. Plum jam, cocoa, vanilla, banana and sweet worty malts in the aroma. Very nice and complex. Full, almost sticky body showing a more one-dimensional scotch/plum/vanilla flavour. Some chocolate and alcohol start to come though in the finish... and also the flavour as it warms. I almost prefer it a bit more chilled than you’d normally want a strong ale. Great stuff anyway. Ungstrup (37664) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 10, 2007
Bottled. A dark brown beer with a medium dark tan head. The aroma is very sweet and very complex with notes of fruit, prunes, chocolate, wood, balsamico, and spices. The flavor is very sweet and again very complex with notes of caramel, dark fruits, leaning towards being over ripe, combines with notes of prunes, chocolate, yeast, wood, and spices, before the alcohol comes along and dominated for a while before a dry slightly bitter alcohol, fruity, and quite spicy finish sets in. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in the throat. Nice. fonefan (49417) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2007

Bottle at ’t Waagstuk, Antwerp. I vaguely remember this beer as the night got a bit messy from here on out, although I do remember liking it. Mahogany with a thick beige head. Malt, dark fruits, liquorice and a hint of cocoa with that brunish earthy note. A great beer with lots going on. TBone (17568) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2007

Sampled in a cozy bar/resturant in Antwerp with pat. The bars specilaity. Dark burnt orangey red colour with an ample off brwon head. Aroma of soft berries poached in red wine, roasted malts, sugar an some autumn spiced pop-pourii. Caramel and golden malts dominate with layers of dried fruit and nutmeg/cinnamon. Good with my meal choice but nothing special. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 6, 2007
